  • Patent number: 5426345
Abstract: A high voltage electronic tube comprises an electrode arrangement comprising an outer electrode formed by a cylindrical metal jacket, an inner electrode supported substantially centrally with respect to said outer electrode by an electrode support arranged in an insulating disc providing a vacuumtight closure for the tube and at least one intermediate electrode formed by a metal sleeve arranged concentrically between the outer and inner electrodes. From a high voltage supply circuit comprising an alternating current source and a multi stage voltage multiplier a ground potential is applied to the outer electrode and a high potential of a significant magnitude is applied to the inner electrode, whereas the intermediate electrode is connected to an intermediate stage of the voltage multiplier for receiving a potential of a magnitude between the potentials applied to the inner and outer electrodes.

  • Patent number: 5402464
Abstract: A high-voltage electronic tube includes a housing enclosing a vacuumized space. The housing has a cylindrical metal jacket and an annular insulating disc connected vacuumtight to an inner face of the jacket. An electrode support passes through a central opening of the annular insulating disc and is connected vacuumtight to the annular insulating disc. The electrode support positions an electrode in the vacuumized space. A metal sleeve divides the annular insulating disc into two separate annular disc parts arranged concentrically to the tube axis. The metal sleeve is connected vacuumtight to the annular disc parts.

  • Patent number: 4789997
Abstract: In a circuit arrangement for producing high voltages by means of a voltage multiplier with rectifiers and capacitors and fed from an alternating current source in which circuit arrangement, a low amplitude voltage lying at the high voltage level is produced by the ripple voltage across one or more of the component parts of the voltage multiplier, the average potential of which component part (s) does not differ substantially from the high voltage. In the case of an X-ray tube high voltage supply the total filament circuit may be approximately on the high cathode voltage and no severe requirements for insulation need to be fulfilled. The ripple voltage may be used to produce other small amplitude voltages lying at a high voltage level.

  • Patent number: 4563769
Abstract: In an X-ray generator device a target member emitting X-rays by electron bombardment is arranged in a rod-shaped tubular probe and is provided with a conically tapering front part facing a comparatively narrow aperture in a controlling electron beam diaphragm for the purpose of forming a substantially punctiform radiation source. The position of the target member is adjusted by securing the rod-shaped target member at a part of its length reckoned from its opposite, rearmost end in a central bore of an oblong cylindrical target carrier positioned coaxially in the probe, said target carrier being only at its foremost end connected with the wall of the probe, thereby allowing fine adjustment of the target member with respect to said aperture by displacement of said opposite end of the target carrier in a radial plane in the probe, e.g. by means of wedge means formed as adjusting screws in the annular channel between the target carrier and the inner wall of the probe.
