  • Publication number: 20200101561
Abstract: Devices and methods for processing a workpiece along a predetermined processing line are provided. The device includes: a pulsed, polychromatic laser beam generator; an optical arrangement; and a moving device. The laser beam generator generates a laser beam along a beam direction. The optical arrangement generates a focal line along the beam direction. The optical arrangement has a chromatic aberration for wavelength-dependent focusing of the laser beam and a filter for wavelength-dependent filtering of the laser beam. The moving device generates relative movement between the laser beam and the workpiece along the predetermined processing line.

  • Patent number: 10603367
Abstract: The invention relates to humanized antibodies that bind to an epitope at the N-terminus of pyroglutamated amyloid beta (A? N3pE) peptide and to preventive and therapeutic treatment of diseases and conditions that are related to accumulation and deposition of amyloid peptides, such as amyloidosis, a group of disorders and abnormalities associated with pyroglutamated amyloid peptide, like Alzheimer's disease, Down's syndrome, cerebral amyloid angiopathy and other related aspects. More specifically, it pertains to the use of humanized monoclonal antibodies to bind pyroglutamated amyloid beta peptide in plasma, brain, and cerebrospinal fluid to prevent accumulation or to reverse deposition of A? N3pE within the brain and in various tissues in the periphery, and to alleviate amyloidosis. • Publication number: 20190105014
Abstract: Placement of a medical device within or in proximity to a substantially fluid filled compartment within a human body is aided by pulse-echo ultrasound and a time-stretching technique. In one embodiment, a small ultrasound transducer is placed near the tip of a catheter intended to be positioned within a ventricle of the brain to drain cerebrospinal fluid. The transducer is electrically pulsed so as to emit sound waves, and then used to receive returning echoes which contain information about structures in front of the transducer. These returning echoes are electronically amplified and processed in such a way that the information represented by the echoes is spread out over a much longer period than the actual acquisition time. This processed information may be presented to an operator visually, via audio feedback and/or via tactile feedback. Embodiments are disclosed where the information is displayed visually through variations in the color or brightness of a light source over time.

  • Publication number: 20170314531
Abstract: A wind turbine blade having a surface mounted device attached thereto via at least a first attachment part, which is connected to a part of the device. The first attachment part comprises an outer attachment part providing a first bonding connection between the device and the surface of the blade, wherein the first bonding connection is an elastic bond, and an inner attachment part providing a second bonding connection between the device and the surface of the blade, wherein the second bonding connection has a structural bond. The structural bond prevents the surface mounted device from creeping and the elastic bond region relieves stresses on the bond line, such as peel stresses, whereby the surface mounted device is less likely to be ripped off the surface of the blade due to forces affecting the device or the blade.
