  • Patent number: 7071869
Abstract: A radar system using a quadrature signal includes a quadrature push—push oscillator for generating four harmonics with a 90-degree phase difference from each other, and producing two-balanced 2nd harmonic signals from the harmonics; a first coupler block for radiating one of the 2nd harmonics through an antenna; a second coupler block for terminating the other 2nd harmonic to ground; and a power combiner for combining a transmitted signal that is leaked from the first and second coupler blocks with the received signal that is radiated through the antenna. The radar system features an improved receiving sensitivity by offsetting the leakage signals of the sending end. Also, the radar system can be made very small by using a single antenna for transmitting and receiving.

  • Publication number: 20030134597
Abstract: Techniques for segmented CDMA searching are disclosed. In one aspect, a searcher comprises a plurality of storage elements selectable for performing a plurality of segmentable search tasks, each storage element operable for storage of and access to state information for one of the plurality of search tasks. In another aspect, a first search task is interrupted in progress, the state information for the first task is stored, a second search task is performed, and the first search task is continued using the stored state information. In yet another aspect, a search task is segmented into smaller search segments, sized to fit within contiguous available time in the searcher. Various other aspects of the invention are also presented. These aspects have the benefit of circuit area and search-time efficiency which translate into reduced costs, increased standby time, increased acquisition speed, higher quality signal transmission, increased data throughput, decreased power, and improved overall system capacity.

  • Patent number: 5948870
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to provide an polymerization method for carboxylated styrene-butadiene latex using paper coating with the gel content having 50%.about.90% by controlling the reaction with the sole use of tertiary-dodecyl mercaptan in the high temperature polymerization method with following steps comprising;i) reacting and batch charged polymerizing 10.about.20 wt % of total styrene and butadiene monomers with small quantity of acid monomers, emulsifier, initiator and reducing agent at about 60.degree. C. in initial polymerization step; andii) reacting and continuously charged polymerizing 80.about.90 wt % of total styrene and butadiene monomers with small quantity of acid monomers, emulsifier and tertiary dodecyl mercaptan as chain transfer agent with increasing the polymerization temperature step by step from 70.degree. C., 75.degree. C. to 80.degree. C. in increment polymerization step.

  • Patent number: 5883372
Abstract: A card system prevents contacts of a smart card from being scratched by contact members of a card reader to prevent the smart card from malfunctioning. The smart card system includes a smart card having contacts and a perforation hole therein, a card reader body formed at an upper surface thereof with an aperture, a contact frame disposed within the aperture and having a plurality of contact members attached thereto so as to contact the contacts, a slide protrusion inserted into the perforation hole of the smart card when the smart card reaches a reading position in the card reader, and a detect switch for detecting the insertion of the smart card. The smart card system prevents the contacts of the smart card from being damaged, so that a malfunction of the smart card can be prevented. The smart card system has a simple construction, so it can be easily manufactured at a low cost.
