    Abstract: A clutch actuator is configured to change operational force applied to a clutch in cases that a worm wheel is rotated by a motor. The clutch actuator may include a motor provided with a rotatable worm shaft, a screw thread formed along an exterior circumference of the worm shaft, a worm wheel provided with a worm gear engaging the screw thread, and a cam recess, an operation rod mounted to the worm wheel, the operation rod configured to engage or release a clutch, and/or a rotatable operation unit disposed within the cam recess, and configured to apply elastic force to the worm wheel. Methods of using the clutch actuator are also described.

    Abstract: An all-wheel drive differential wherein a pinion, a ring gear of an inner case and a sun gear constitute a center differential for adjusting a speed differential between the front wheels and rear wheels of a vehicle, and helical teeth on the pinion, the ring gear, the sun gear and friction washer function as the differential limitation of the center differential, while a front differential formed with a differential using spider pinions in the inner case function as a differential limitation of the front differential by equipping a clutch pack at the front differential, thereby enabling to construct the all-wheel drive differential in a simple and compact fashion.

    Abstract: A limited slip differential includes a differential case having a central axis, the differential case being connected to an input shaft of an engine, a drive body coaxially disposed within the differential case, a planetary gear unit disposed around the drive body, a cam assembly for performing a differential action depending on a speed difference generated by planetary gear unit, and a multi-plate clutch assembly having outer plates connected to the cam assembly and inner plates connected to the drive body. The cam assembly comprises a drive cam for moving in a radial direction with respect to the central axis by a speed difference between drive wheels, and a piston cam is urged toward the multi-plate clutch assembly when the drive cam is displaced in the radial direction to engage the inner and outer plates with each other. The outer plates are connected to the drive cam. The outer plates are connected to the drive cam by a fixing member fixed on the differential case.

    Abstract: A helical gear type limited slip differential (LSD), the LSD comprising a differential gear case integrally connected to a ring gear rotated by power output from a transmission, a side gear splined to drive shafts inserted into both sides of the differential gear case to transmit power to the drive shafts, and a plurality of pinion gears meshed to external sides of the side gear via helical gear for maintaining a parallel position with the drive shafts, wherein each pinion gear is unsymmetrically arranged within the differential gear case, such that only pinion gears mounted within the differential gear case are structurally changed in arrangement thereof to improve torque bias ratio for determining a differential limiting function without altering the overall structural elements, thereby enabling to apply same even to off-road vehicles.
