The locking member is made of substantially the same material as the X-lever, such that abrasion of the locking member and the locking lever is substantially prevented. The locking member may be integrally formed with the X-lever, such as a drawing boss or a burring boss.

The compressing lever is driven by a driving force from the sliding member, and compresses the review arm in a direction such that the elastic member is stretched. The pivot lever is then rotated by the stretched elastic member and adheres the pinch roller closely to the capstan shaft.

In this state, a resilient member formed at the reel cover body resiliently contacts a side surface of the chassis so that the protrusions are kept within the recesses. The reel cover can be assembled with the chassis in a simple manner without requiring extra securing means such as screws. Accordingly, the number of assembly parts can be decreased and the assembly procedure may be simplified, thereby productivity may be improved and manufacturing cost may be reduced.

The main cam gear causes the sub-deck, the pole base loading unit, the brake unit, and the main sliding member to perform linked movements while the main cam gear is rotationally driven.

The magnetic tape guiding system of the tape recorder transport system has a supply reel pole base assembly having a slant pole with a first guide unit having portions formed at both ends of the slant pole to function as a conventional roller for regulating upward and downward movement of the upper and lower edges of a moving magnetic tape, and a tension pole assembly having a tension pole with a second guide unit having portions formed at both ends of the tension pole to function as a conventional impedance roller for regulating upward and downward movement of the upper and lower edges of the moving magnetic tape. This arrangement can thus achieve 2-dimensional plane-traveling of the magnetic tape while also reducing the number of the parts of the guiding system.

    Abstract: A pinch roller assembly for a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus has a pinch roller configured to selectively contact a capstan axis mounted on a deck base. A pinch arm is provided for rotatably supporting the pinch roller on one end thereof. The pinch arm is pivotally mounted on the deck base for movement between first position and second positions. When in first position, the pinch roller is adjacent to the capstan axis, and when in the second position the pinch roller is spaced away from the capstan axis. A pinch axis is mounted on the other end of the pinch arm. The pinch axis is a pivot point of the pinch arm. A pinch spring is disposed on the pinch axis to elastically support the pinch arm when being pivoted to the first position toward the capstan axis. A separation preventing protrusion is integrally formed with the pinch axis to prevent deviation of the pinch spring.
