Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing information regarding a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) device when an Internet Protocol (IP) address of the UPnP device is changed are provided. In the method, a second address of the UPnP device is obtained from a message indicating the end of a first address-based network connection based on a first address of the device, and information regarding the UPnP device is updated by using the second address.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing moving image ancillary information, based on a script, is provided. The method includes receiving a user command for inputting ancillary information, where the ancillary information includes a script for a moving image being played. The method further includes storing the ancillary information input by a user, searching for and extracting the stored ancillary information during playback of the moving image, and outputting the extracted ancillary information to an image display screen using the script.

Abstract: A flange for connecting pipes. The flange includes a fixing flange and a connecting flange and a joint fastening member. Each of the fixing flange and the connecting flange has a bolt facing groove on a peripheral edge of each flange and a nut fixing groove formed adjacent to the bolt facing groove. The joint fastening member includes a screw bolt, a first fixing nut screwed to a first end of the screw bolt, and a second fixing nut screwed to a second end of the screw bolt. The first fixing nut has a joint protrusion that is inserted into the nut fixing groove of the fixing flange, and the second fixing nut has a joint protrusion that is inserted into the nut fixing groove of the connecting flange.

A media server (MS) provides a media renderer (MR) with a URL that executes a CGI that that performs purchasing of a charged content included in an external server, and, if the MR requests the reproduction of content corresponding to the URL, the MS executes a CGI of the URL, purchases charged content corresponding to the URL, and downloads the charged content, thereby browsing a list of contents provided by an external contents purchase site through a consumer electronic device such as a digital television, in which a UPnP audio/visual control point is mounted without a separate interface, purchasing desired content, and reproducing the purchased content.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for utilizing DVD content through a home network are provided. The method includes transmitting item information indicating DVD content in response to a request for a content list, and receiving a request for the DVD content in units of a sector from a client having acquired the item information, and extracting and transmitting data of the requested sector to the client. Various functions provided by the DVD video can be utilized similar to reproducing DVD content through a local DVD player while reproducing DVD content stored in a remote server through devices of a home network. Therefore, it is possible to reduce concerns of the DVD copyrighter about illegal copying of the content since encoded data is transmitted as it is, without being decoded.

Abstract: Provided are an apparatus, system and method for providing an Internet print service in a home network, more particularly, an apparatus, system and method for more conveniently providing an Internet print service via a UPnP printer in a home network. Abstract: Disclosed are a method and apparatus for outputting a user interface (UI) event of a 3rd party device in a home network having a server, a client and a control point, the server and the client joining a UI session by using a remote protocol, the control point controlling the server and the client. The method includes (a) receiving by the control point a UI event message from the 3rd party device not joined in the UI session, the UI event message representing change in a state of the 3rd party device, (b) selecting by the control point a target client for processing a UI event, (c) transmitting by the control point an Out-of-session connect action message (OOSConnect Action) requesting connection setup with the 3rd party device to the selected target client, and (d) transmitting by the target client a permission message for the OOSConnect Action to the control point, thereby setting an Out-of-session connection OOSConnect with the 3rd party device and processing the UI event.
