  • Publication number: 20050111388
Abstract: In a video-conferencing system using a mobile terminal device and a method for implementing the same, by connecting mobile terminal devices, which have a wireless LAN module, a camera module and a video conference application program, to each other by a wireless LAN and by performing communications using wireless LAN Adhoc mode between the mobile terminal devices, the cost spent implementing a video-conferencing system is reduced and the free mobility can be secured in a place where people frequently move such as a building office, a warehouse of a distribution company or a temporary event place.

  • Publication number: 20030123619
Abstract: A mechanism is provided allowing a user to initiate registration of his telephony address with another terminal in an efficient and user-friendly manner. The user initiates a call to a registration service to establish an audio connection with his terminal. Once the audio connection is established, the user may audibly provide a registration command and his identity to facilitate registration of the user at the terminal for future calls directed to the user's telephony address. From the command and identity, the registration service will recognize that registration is being requested, determine the identification of the user, and authenticate the user. The user is authenticated by deriving a voiceprint from the user and comparing it with a reference voiceprint that was previously derived from the user. Assuming that the user is authenticated, the service will effect registration, such that future calls for the telephony address are terminated at the terminal.

  • Patent number: 6553071
Abstract: A motion compensation coding apparatus using a wavelet transformation and a method thereof are capable of detecting a motion vector with respect to a block having a certain change or a motion in an image from a region having a hierarchical structure based on each frequency band and each sub-frequency band generated by wavelet-transforming an inputted motion picture and effectively coding a motion using the detected motion vector. The motion compensation coding apparatus can include a wavelet transformation unit receiving a video signal and wavelet transforming by regions of different frequency bands based on a hierarchical structure, and a motion compensation unit receiving the wavelet-transformed images and compensating the regions having a certain change or motion in the image.

  • Publication number: 20020147995
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of setting up an output format of a set-top box matching an output format of a set-top box identically with that of a display device if the output formats of the set-top box and display device fail to be identical to each other. The present invention includes the steps of setting up preliminarily an output format of the set-top box as one of a plurality of formats the set-top box enables to output, outputting a predetermined message with the preliminary setup output format from the set-top box to a display device connected to the set-top box, informing, if the predetermined message is displayed on the display device, the set-top box of the message display, and fixing the preliminary setup output format to the output format of the set-top box, wherein the output format of the set-top box is made to coincide with an output format of the display device if the output formats of the set-top box and display device are different from each other.

  • Patent number: 5952227
Abstract: A human embryonic lung fibroblast diploid cell strain LBHEL(KCTC 0127BP) is highly susceptible to varicella zoster virus(VZV). A cell-free varicella zoster virus (VZV) is produced by (a) culturing the human embryonic lung fibroblast diploid cell strain LBHEL(KCTC 0127BP) of claim 1 in a culture vessel to give cultured LBHEL cells; (b) infecting the cultured LBHEL cells with VZV to give VZV-infected cells; (c) culturing and harvesting the VZV-infected cells; (d) disrupting the harvested cells to obtain a cell homogenate; and (e) centrifuging the cell homogenate to obtain a supernatant containing the cell-free VZV.
