Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a duplex automatic document feeding (DADF) function, and a control method thereof includes a DADF unit to feed a document along a duplex path, an image scanning unit to scan the document and output scan data, a storage unit to temporarily store the output scan data, and a controller to control the DADF unit to re-scan a first side of the document using the duplex path, if a full memory error occurs while the first side of the document is scanned.

Abstract: A method and system for automatically installing drivers in a host device for driving an apparatus that is connected to the host device and having at least one emulation. The method includes the steps of executing a driver installation module included in the host device, the driver installation module requesting the apparatus to transmit model information of the apparatus and emulation information indicating which emulations are included with the apparatus, and receiving the emulation information and the model information from the apparatus. The driver installation module then automatically selecting and installing drivers based on the received emulation information and the received model information.

A virtual paper size and document data having the virtual paper size are received, a document corresponding to the document data is displayed, and the document data of the virtual paper size is converted to printing data of a currently set printing paper size. Accordingly, when printing is performed by receiving document data from an application program that lacks a paper size editing function, the document data can be received from the application program according to a selected virtual paper size using a printing preview function, conversion to printing data of a currently set printing paper size, and printed. Thus, waste of printing paper and working time due to the printing data loss can be reduced.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus driver having a printing authority, a method of installing the same, and a method and apparatus to print a document using the same includes an account information reading unit to read account information of a currently logged-in user, and a printing data generating unit to generate printing data according to a preset printing authority for an account lower than an administrator account with reference to the read account information. The method for installing the same includes reading account information of a currently logged-in user when the image forming apparatus driver is installed, and if the read account information is the administrator account, setting the printing authority for the account lower than the administrator account.
