  • Patent number: 5372525
Abstract: A connector and fastener are used particularly for a Christmas light string. The connector has a wire holding portion and a socket-engaging portion. Locking keys are formed on the wire holding portion and receiving holes are formed on the receiving portion for engagement with said locking keys when said wire holding portion is inserted into said socket-engaging portion. The fastener has at least one snapping element disposed on a socket of another Christmas light string and a corresponding number of flat tongues formed on the outer periphery of said connector for snap fitting when said connector is engaged with said socket. The connector may be configured to connect two wires respectively to two Christmas light strings or may be a connector with a socket to be inserted with another connector or an electrical gadget.

  • Patent number: 5214903
Abstract: A novel method for the packing of decorative lighting strings comprises forming an intermediate section of conductor wire between each pair of adjacent light bulbs into an independent loop and hiding under the unutilized space available behind the light bulbs where stacking rack is optionally provided so that the space originally required to accommodate the conductor wire in the aisle between two parallel rows of string stored can be substantially reduced. The invention relates also to the structure of the package developed based upon said method as well as fastening means for steadily stacking up or extending sidewise of said packages.

  • Patent number: 5193255
Abstract: Clip means for fastening of decorative lamp parts comprises a male (or caught) member having an enlarged head of spear or mushroom shape extending from a stem and a female (or catch) member constituted of a cavity like an aperture, a through-recess or a gap between a pair of bosses to take the male member wherein each catch or caught means may choose to respectively locate on or extend from a first part of the decorative lamp parts including lampshield, lamp base, lamp etc. to be conjugated with a second part of the decorative lamp parts complementary to and to be fastened to the said first part of the parts by clipping the caught or male member into the catch or female member. Said catch and caught means may be applied in singular set or disposed in double sets diametrically, catch and/or caught member may desirably made integrally with the first and/or second part where flange, extending stem etc. are made available.

  • Patent number: 5094632
Abstract: A connector for Christmas light strings includes a wire-holding portion for receiving and holding two conducting wires and a socket-engaging portion for engaging with a conventional socket. The wire-holding portion includes two half casings each having two slots separated by a wall formed therebetween. The two half casing are formed together at one edge thereof such that the two half casings are pivotable with respect to each other. The socket-engaging portion includes an annular hollow receiving portion, a first annular protrusion, and a second annular protrusion. The annular hollow receiving portion has a compartment for receiving the wire-receiving portion.

  • Patent number: 5069630
Abstract: A socket assembly comprising a number of sliding plates spaced from one another and arranged in a row between a base and a cover fixedly mounted to the base. Each sliding plate has a pair of slots thereon which is operable by an insertion of an ordinary plug to move the sliding plate directly in a lateral direction perpendicular to the row alignment. The sliding plate is able to return to an original position where communication between the slots on the cover and the channels on the base is blocked. Various types of springs are mountable on the cover, the sliding plate, or an additional securing plate disposed between the base and the sliding plate, or to be integral to the sliding plate. In a further embodiment, the pair of slots on each sliding plate is operable to move separately and independently.

  • Patent number: 5012397
Abstract: A socket and changeable bulb housing snap fastener for Christmas light strings includes a bulb housing with at least one tongue and a corresponding number of T-shaped male members. An annular outer flange is formed on the socket. The T-shaped male member has a snapping head and is formed on an outer periphery of an annular hollow engaging portion of the bulb housing. The tongue is made of insulating material and extends radially and outwardly from an outer periphery of the outer flange. A rectangular slot, having a width slightly less than a maximum width of the snapping head of the T-shaped male member, is formed on the tongue adjcent to a free end of the tongue. A V-shaped groove is formed on an upper side of the tongue at an end opposite to the free end and extends transversely to a length of the tongue.

  • Patent number: 4943899
Abstract: A socket and bulb snap fastener for Christmas light strings including at least one T-shaped male member and a corresponding number of tongues. The T-shaped male member has a snapping head and is formed on an upper margin of a periphery of a socket of the bulb string for a Christmas tree. The tongue is made of insulating material and is formed in the vicinity of an upper margin of an insert of the bulb string. A rectangular slot having a width slightly less than a maximum width of the snapping head of the T-shaped male member is formed on the tongue adjacent to a free end of the tongue. A V-shaped groove is formed on a lower side of the tongue at an end opposite to the free end and extends transversely to a length of the tongue. The slot is engageable with the T-shaped male member by bending the tongue downwardly about the V-shaped groove and pushing the tongue against the T-shaped male member such that the snapping head is forced through the slot.
