Abstract: Systems and methods for characterizing work by working equipment based on proximity to a worker's computing device are disclosed. According to an aspect, a system includes a first computing device configured to determine whether the first computing device is located within a predefined distance from working equipment. The first computing device is also configured to communicate notification whether the first computing device is located within the predefined distance from the working equipment. The system also includes a second computing device configured to receive the notification. The second computing device is also configured to determine characterization of work by the working equipment based on the received notification.
