  • Patent number: 9259765
Abstract: A method and system for mail run balancing of critical documents on a sorter machine that comingles both critical and non-critical documents. A plan identifying a set of critical documents to be processed as part of a mail run is received at the sorter. The plan includes an individual identifier code for each critical document. Sets of critical and non-critical documents are sorted as part of the comingled mail run. A camera scans the documents for the individual identifier codes on the critical documents during sorting. The camera captures an image of the scanned critical documents. A list of scanned individual identifier codes of sorted critical documents is stored for later use, along with the captured images of the documents. The list of scanned individual identifier codes is compared to the identifier codes of the critical documents in the plan.

  • Patent number: 7539998
Abstract: An apparatus for and method of permitting a CORBA user terminal to request services from an enterprise server having XATMI applications. The service request is generated and transmitted in accordance with CORBA protocol as an IIOP message. A CORBA adapter makes the data format conversions. The request is honored by the enterprise server and a response is generated. The response is converted to CORBA protocol and transferred to the user terminal.

The service request is generated and transmitted in accordance with CORBA protocol as an IIOP message. A CORBA adapter makes the data format conversions. The request is honored by the enterprise server and a response is generated. The response is converted to CORBA protocol and transferred to the user terminal. Unlike previous and less efficient approaches, the CORBA Naming Service of the CORBA Object Request Broker does not initialize any CORBA objects at server startup. Instead, individual CORBA objects are not initialized until actual use is required.

  • Patent number: 6643679
Abstract: A preprocessing DLL which may be appended to a service request for transfer to a gateway that runs within a Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) environment, and is capable of receiving requests from one or more different types of DCOM clients for service by an On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) style application running on an enterprise server. The services on the OLTP system are designed to accomplish a specific task, for example, update a user's bank account balance following a debit or credit. In a preferred embodiment, the OLTP system is X/Open compliant. The DCOM Client can be any type of client, including a Visual Basic client, C++ client, or a Web Browser with Active Server Pages (ASP). The preprocessing DLL permits the efficient web server side preprocessing of data associated with the service request before the service request is transferred to and honored by the enterprise OLTP system.

  • Patent number: 6397220
Abstract: Method and apparatus for an application program running on a Web browser to make service requests to a service routine running on an On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) system. When the application program requests a service on the OLTP system, the input data format required for the requested service is passed to the application program. The application program submits a service request to the service routine in the input data format, and receives a result of the service routine processing the service request in the output data format. The input and output data formats allow the application program to complete additional processing of the result in the output data format and make subsequent service requests to the OLTP system.
