  • Patent number: 8541485
Abstract: A method of making a filled resin includes the steps of: Providing a wiped film evaporator with an internal evaporator chamber maintained under vacuum and having an internal chamber wall maintained at an elevated temperature; introducing solvent-borne particles and organic matrix into the internal chamber; and compounding the solvent-borne particles and the organic matrix in the internal evaporator chamber by forming a thin film against the internal chamber wall, the thin film including organic matrix and particles, and the vacuum conditions and elevated temperature being sufficient to remove solvent from the particles and organic matrix to provide the filled resin. Less than about 10% of the particles in the resulting filled resin are agglomerated.

  • Publication number: 20130068035
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that relate to determining the phase compositions of a multiphase fluid flow in a fluid line, including determining a flow velocity parameter which is related to the flow velocity of the fluid flow in the fluid line using a flow sensor and obtaining a vibration signal from the fluid flow using a vibration sensor comprising a target disposed in the fluid flow which vibrates in response to fluid flow in the fluid line. The signal may be analysed to determine an energy parameter which is related to the energy of the vibration signal within a frequency band, and a phase composition parameter, such as a dryness parameter, relating to the phase compositions of the fluid flow is determined using the flow velocity parameter and the energy parameter. An apparatus for determining the phase compositions of a multiphase fluid flow in a fluid line is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7995834
Abstract: A method and system to capture geometry of a three dimensional target while disambiguating multiple projected target elements. The system projects at least three light pattern elements toward a target at a diverse spacing relative to each other. The system captures at least one image of the target while illuminated by at least one of the pattern elements. The pattern elements are moved relative to the target. The system disambiguates one pattern element from any other contained within an image of the target, at least in part based on the diverse spacing. The system measures triangulation locations of points on a three-dimensional surface of the target.

  • Publication number: 20060204628
Abstract: A method rapidly cools meat by exposure to a rapid cooling temperature of no more than about ?10° C. for sufficient time to provide a frozen crust on the meat and chills the resultant crust-frozen meat by exposure of said crust-frozen meat to a chilling temperature greater than the rapid cooling temperature but no more than about +10° C. to raise the temperature of the surface of the meat and to maintain said surface at a temperature no higher than the freezing temperature of the meat for at least sufficient time to injure lethally and/or kill bacteria, thereby reducing the viability of bacteria on meat. The method has particular application in the processing of poultry meat to kill bacteria comprising the Campylobacter and/or Salmonella species. The meat is disinfected in a non-intrusive manner, leaving the meat in as natural a state as possible.

  • Patent number: 6648078
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device which may be mounted to the front of a tractor and which is operative to fold over corn stalks and the like before they engage the front tires of the tractor. The device positions dragging units in front of each of the front tires of the tractor, whereby the dragging units are dragged over the ground in front of the tires when the tractor is moving. The weight of each of the dragging units is sufficient to cause it to substantially fold over corn stalks and the like prior to their engagement with the front tires of the tractor, thereby greatly minimizing wear to the tires caused by engagement with the corn stalks and the like.

Abstract: A frame for resiliently supporting an individual relative to a ground surface. The inventive device includes an elongated main frame member having a steering tube mounted to a first end and a rear fork pivotally mounted to a second end thereof. A spring assembly extends between the main frame member and the rear fork to support the same in a collinear orientation. A pair of pivot pins extend through the main frame member to pivotally couple the rear fork thereto, the second pivot pin supports a guide pulley which directs a drive chain relative to the rear fork to permit articulation of the rear fork without interference with the chain.
