The method then includes identifying at least one recommended content augmentation associated with the trigger criterion and causing display of a first selectable user interface element associated with the at least one recommended content augmentation with the listing of other users on the user interface.

Abstract: A messaging system, which hosts a backend service for an associated messaging client application, includes a voice notes system that addresses the technical problem of serving an audio message to the recipient in a manner that permits the recipient to consume the message in a text format as a transcription. A chat user interface (UI) provided with the voice notes system permits a user to play an audio message or request generation of the transcription of the audio message on-demand to prevent unnecessary cluttering of the UI real estate.

In response to determining that a recipient identifier of the recipient is not linked to a platform account, an off-platform communication is transmitted to a second user device associated with the recipient identifier. The off-platform communication is in an electronic format supported by the second user device and contains a user-selectable registration link. In response to detecting establishment of a second platform account linked to the recipient identifier, the recipient is enabled to access the content item on the second user device via a user interface provided by an interaction application. A relationship between the first platform account and the second platform account is established within the interaction system.

Abstract: The technical problem of creating an augmented reality (AR) experience that, on one hand, is accessible from a camera view user interface provided with a messaging client and that, also, can perform a modification based on a previously captured image of a user, is addressed by providing an AR component. When a user, while accessing the messaging client, engages a user selectable element representing the AR component in the camera view user interface, the messaging system loads the AR component in the messaging client. The AR component comprises a target media content object, which can be animation or live action video. The loaded AR component accesses a portrait image associated with a user and modifies the target media content using the portrait image. The resulting target media content object is displayed in the camera view user interface.

The application assigns a score to each group based on attributes of the interactions such as type, frequency, and recency. The groups are ranked based on the scores, and a subset of top scoring groups is selected. These top groups are displayed in the messaging interface in a dedicated region, allowing quick access to recent highly-engaged groups. The top groups may be displayed alongside individual contacts identified as best friends. Users can customize graphical icons associated with each top group. The techniques rely on observed user interaction patterns to identify meaningful top groups specific to each user.
