  • Patent number: 11933250
Abstract: A gaseous fuel-air mixer includes an outer shell, an inner shell, and a fuel chamber rib. The outer shell includes an air intake and a fuel intake. The air intake is configured to receive air. The air intake has an air outlet. The fuel intake has a fuel inlet that is configured to receive fuel. The inner shell includes an inner shell intake that is configured to separately receive the air from the air outlet and the fuel from the fuel intake and to provide a gaseous fuel-air mixture. The inner shell cooperates with the outer shell to define a fuel intake collecting chamber that is configured to receive the fuel from the fuel inlet and a fuel intake concentrating chamber that is configured to receive the fuel from the fuel intake collecting chamber and provide the fuel to the inner shell intake.

  • Patent number: 10738814
Abstract: A method of producing a sealed structural joint between two components (23, 24) and such a sealed joint are provided. The method includes the steps of applying a layer of sealant (27) to the first component (23), applying liquid shim (28) to the second component (24), inserting an intermediate layer (29) between the sealant (27) and the liquid shim (28), the intermediate layer (29) having a series of raised structural features (31) to engage the first component (23). The features (31) are positioned to allow the sealant (27) to extend across the joint between the raised features (31) to form a continuous seal. The joint is then closed and cure of the liquid shim (28) and sealant (27) takes place to solidify the shim (28) to the desired thickness within the joint.

  • Patent number: 9506565
Abstract: A sealing unit for sealing a gap between a pair of surfaces, the apparatus comprising a nozzle for injecting sealant into the gap; two or more rollers; an endless track which passes round the rollers; and a curing device for directing energy into the gap to initiate cure of the sealant. The sealing unit is moved along the length of the gap. A sealant is injected into the gap from the nozzle and the track is rotated around the rollers as they are moved along the length of the gap. The track is pressed onto the first and second surfaces so the sealant in the gap is constrained by the track to lie substantially flush with the first and second surfaces. Energy is directed into the sealant with the curing device, the curing energy initiating cure of the sealant. The sealing unit is moved along the length of the gap at a rate such that the sealant becomes sufficiently cured when it is in contact with the track so that the track can be peeled away from the sealant as the track rotates round the second roller.

  • Publication number: 20130037655
Abstract: A method of sealing a gap between first and second aerodynamic surfaces. The width of the gap between the two surfaces is measured to obtain a gap measurement. The width of a seal member is pre-formed in accordance with the gap measurement. The seal member is fitted into the gap such that the seal member is substantially flush with the first and second aerodynamic surfaces. Apparatus for performing the method is also described. The apparatus comprising: a metrology device adapted to measure the width of the gap between the first and second aerodynamic surfaces; a seal member dispenser for dispensing a seal member; and a cutter adapted to cut the seal member to size in accordance with the measurements obtained by the metrology device.
