  • Publication number: 20230278708
Abstract: Aerial fire-fighting bucket systems are disclosed for liquid cargo pickup, transport, and discharge. Bucket systems include rigging to be attached to the long line of an aircraft, the bucket having a pliable skin having an upper edge and a lower edge, an upper frame from which the upper edge of the skin is suspended, and a lower structure to which the lower edge of the skin is attached in a sealed manner. Fixed attachment of the skin by its sealing attachment to the lower structure forms a container for the liquid cargo. Bucket systems include a valve system disposed in the lower structure and optionally a computer-controlled hydraulic motor/pump and accumulator configured to maintain hydraulic pressure, and controls to release liquid cargo from the bucket by a hydraulically-activated flapper valve assembly. Bucket systems may include a power fill system with pump having an outlet comprising a plurality of check valves.

Bucket systems include a valve system disposed in the lower structure and a computer-controlled hydraulic motor/pump and accumulator configured to maintain hydraulic pressure, and controls to release liquid cargo from the bucket by a hydraulically activated valve assembly. Hydraulic accumulator charging operates independently of activation of cargo pickup, transport, and discharge cycles. Hydraulic accumulator sizing provides for a minimum of actuations of extension and retraction of the piston within a short-time interval reducing weight and electrical supply burdens on the aircraft.

  • Patent number: 11067407
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to generating turn-by-turn direction previews. In one aspect, one or more computing devices, may receive a request for a turn-by-turn direction preview. The one or more computing devices may generate a set of directions from a first geographic location to a second geographic location. Each turn of the directions may be associated with a corresponding waypoint. The one or more computing devices may then identify street level images corresponding with the waypoints, and display a preview of their associated turns by displaying their street level images and a map in between.

  • Patent number: 10775188
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to generating turn-by-turn direction previews. In one aspect, one or more computing devices, may receive a request for a turn-by-turn direction preview. The one or more computing devices may generate a set of turn-by-turn directions based on a series of road segments connecting a first geographic location and a second geographic location. Each direction in the set of turn-by-turn directions may be associated with a corresponding waypoint. The one or more computing devices then identify a set of images corresponding the series of road segments between two adjacent waypoints of the set of turn-by-turn directions, and determine a subset of the set of images to include in the turn-by-turn direction preview. Subsequently, the one or more computing devices may generate the turn-by-turn direction preview based on at least in part on the determined subset of the set of images.

  • Patent number: 10331733
Abstract: In response to a request for images of a location, a set of images depicting different conditions at the location is identified. Each image of the set of images is associated with condition information defining the conditions depicted in that image. A point in time of interest to a user is determined, and information identifying environmental conditions at the location for that point in time may be received. The set of images are ranked based on the received environmental information and the condition information for each image. An image from the set of images is selected for display based on the selected image's rank relative to other images of the set of images. The selected image depicts conditions at the location most closely matching environmental conditions expected at the point in time.

  • Patent number: 10149436
Abstract: A mobile picking platform system includes a mobile picking platform having a mobile carriage with a superstructure supporting multiple adjustable picking stations. A storage box carrier on the mobile picking platform has a pick position with storage boxes held at optimum heights for access by pickers on the picking stations, an unload position in which full storage boxes are unloaded onto a ground surface, and a load position for receiving empty storage boxes. A storage unit carries empty storage boxes and facilitates transfer of storage boxes to the mobile picking platform. A shuttle trailer may also be included in the system to transfer empty storage boxes to the mobile picking platform and storage unit. The shuttle trailer has a down positon in which full storage boxes may be picked up from a ground surface, and an up position for transferring storage boxes to the storage unit or mobile picking platform.

  • Patent number: 9672223
Abstract: In an exemplary method, a request for images of a location is received. In response to the request, a set of images depicting different conditions at the location is identified. Each image of the set of images is associated with condition information defining the conditions depicted in that image. It may be determined when a user will be at the location at a future point in time. Information identifying current environmental conditions at the location for the future point in time may be received. The set of images are ranked based on the received environmental information and the condition information for each image. An image from the set of images is selected for display based on the selected image's rank relative to other images of the set of images. The selected image depicts current conditions at the location most closely matching environmental conditions expected at the future point in time.
