  • Patent number: 9986964
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for determining characteristics of an intraoral dental imaging sensor. A method includes providing an intraoral dental imaging sensor having a housing and a magnetic field sensor disposed in or on the housing, placing the intraoral dental imaging sensor in a holder, positioning the intraoral dental imaging sensor and at least part of the holder in a mouth of a patient, attaching a reference magnet to the patient, receiving, by an electronic processor, magnetic field data from the magnetic field sensor, determining, by the electronic processor, information including a position of the intraoral dental imaging sensor in the mouth of the patient based at least in part on the magnetic field data, and detecting x-rays by the intraoral dental imaging sensor to produce image data.

  • Patent number: 9907530
Abstract: Methods and systems for operating x-ray system. One system includes an x-ray source having a plurality of exposure parameters and a controller for the x-ray source. The controller for the x-ray source is configured to receive image characteristic information and automatically adjust the plurality of exposure parameters based on the image characteristic information. The image characteristic information can include an identifier of a predefined sequence of images, an identifier of an image type, a set of values of the plurality of exposure parameters, and a unique identifier of a holder for an x-ray receptor.

  • Publication number: 20150230764
Abstract: A dose-reducing x-ray aiming device includes an aiming ring having shield with an aperture, at least one arm, and at least one sensor holder. The dose-reducing x-ray aiming ring is generally used to aim a dental x-ray machine and at least partially shield some of the x-rays emitted from the x-ray machine while capturing radiographs. X-rays generally pass through the aperture and then interact with a sensor for capturing the radiographs after passing through the tissue of a patient. In one embodiment, the x-ray aiming device provides an all-in-one aiming ring, which allows a user to capture both periapical and bitewing radiographs with a single device. The aiming device also includes an annular ridge or lip which helps align the x-ray machine with the aiming device.

  • Patent number: 8668682
Abstract: A vacuum regulator apparatus for continuous subglottic aspiration is provided. In one version, the regulator apparatus attaches to a standard vacuum regulator and shares the same vacuum supply outlet as the standard vacuum regulator. Sufficient airflow is provided through the regulator apparatus and calibrated bleed orifice to provide proper continuous subglottic aspiration. Vacuum levels to maintain the airflow are in a range suitable to provide patient comfort. A ball flow indicator provides visual indication of flow through a subglottic tube interface port of the regulator apparatus. A direct flow channel can be momentarily opened causing flow to bypass the regulator module in for clearing blockages affecting the subglottic tube interface port.
