  • Patent number: 7569652
Abstract: The present invention is directed to syntheses of cyclolinear networks. Two novel cyclic siloxanes were used as starting materials. The cyclic siloxanes are self-condensed and co-condensed with silanol-terminated polydimethylsiloxane to vinyl-terminated cyclolinear polymers. Cyclolinear networks can be synthesized by hydrosilylation of vinyl-terminated cyclolinear polyorganosiloxanes with a copolymer of dimethylsiloxane and methylhydrosiloxane.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: August 4, 2009
    Assignee: The University of Akron
Inventors: Joseph P. Kennedy, Jeremy Daum, Gabor Erdodi
  • Publication number: 20060128922
Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention relates to a process for preparing siloxane polymers comprising the steps of: (a) polymerizing at least one siloxane-based monomer in the presence of a crosslinking agent consistent with the following structure: where n is an integer in the range of 1 to about 100; and (b) recovering at least one polymerization product generated by the reaction of Step (a).
