    Abstract: A pathology grossing tool having an elevated base having a cutting surface positioned a predetermined height above a bottom surface of the elevated base, and a grossing cap operable to be disposed over at least a portion of the cutting surface, the grossing cap having a sidewalls extending along the predetermined height. A groove formed in the grossing cap operable to expose the cutting surface and a membrane receiving area is formed between the cutting surface and the grossing cap when the grossing cap is operably disposed over at least the portion of the cutting surface.
