  • Patent number: 9933119
Abstract: The present invention relates to a floating LNG plant (1, 1?, 100) comprising a converted LNG carrier with a hull and a plurality of LNG storage tanks (4, 104) wherein in that the floating LNG plant (1, 1?, 100) comprises: —at least one sponson (2, 2?, 3, 3?, 102, 103) on the side of the hull, for creating additional hull volume, —process equipment (110) for LNG processing on the floating LNG plant (1, 1?, 100), and—a reservoir for storing fluids separated during the LNG processing, wherein said reservoir is formed by the ballast tank or in the space reserved for the ballast tank of the original LNG carrier.

  • Publication number: 20100065140
Abstract: Apparatus is described for diverting a pig (62) from one pipeline (42) to a selected one of two or more other pipelines (44, 46), which is of compact and lightweight construction. The apparatus includes a pipe arrangement that includes an inlet (32) and first and second divergent outlets (34, 36), with gaps (70, 72) in adjacent sides of the outlets; The apparatus also includes a selection sleeve (64) that is pivotable about the inlet axis (52) between first and second positions wherein it diverts a pig received through the inlet, into the first or second outlets, respectively, while blocking the gaps.

  • Publication number: 20080184735
Abstract: A refrigerant tank (40) holds a hydrocarbon refrigerant (42) used by refrigeration equipment (14) to cool natural gas to about ?163° C. to produce LNG (liquefied natural gas) (45). The refrigerant is stored on a floating structure (10) in a way that avoids dangers that would arise if the refrigerant were stored on deck with the refrigeration equipment. A refrigerant container (40) is stored in one of the LNG tanks (20) that holds LNG at about ?163° C.

  • Patent number: 7264655
Abstract: A water stream is treated to remove oxygen before injecting the water into an underground hydrocarbon reservoir. The water-oxygen mixture is separated by centrifugal action using fixed spin blades (20). Oxygen is removed from the center of the conduit through a gas pipe (30) coupled to a vacuum pump (50). Nitrogen may be introduced upstream of the centrifuge to dilute the water-gas solution to improve the efficiency of the gas-liquid separation.

  • Patent number: 7198108
Abstract: Water that is produced during offshore hydrocarbon processing, such as hot produced water accompanying hydrocarbons taken from subsea reservoirs, or cold water resulting from heating LNG (liquified natural gas) to convert it to gas, is changed in temperature to be closer to that of the surrounding sea using apparatus of minimal cost. The apparatus includes a mixer tube (52) that lies totally submerged in the sea and a nozzle (54) that receives the produced water and that has a nozzle end (76) lying in a middle portion of the mixer tube. A location of the mixer tube middle portion at the nozzle end has an inside diameter (A) much larger than the nozzle end outside diameter (B) to induce the through flow of sea water from the surrounding sea through the mixer tube. The produced water is pumped to a high enough pressure to create turbulence in the mixer tube immediately downstream of the nozzle end to better mix the produced and sea waters.
