Publication number: 20090199344Abstract: An improved fishing tool for crimping ferrules to fasten segments of fishing line together is disclosed. The improved fishing tool has a pair of jaws defining a plurality of grooves with varying transversely-oriented lengths and varying thickness. The varying transversely-oriented lengths and thickness of the plurality of grooves allows the fishing tool to perform a crimping operation on ferrules of varying sizes along the middle portion of the ferrules without crimping the ends of the ferrules.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2007Publication date: August 13, 2009Inventors: Jeremy Grayson, Philippe Guigo, Andrew Jones

Patent number: 7503459Abstract: A device for storing fishing rods, sporting equipment, and other tools is disclosed. The device comprises a housing defining at least one opening. A pair of holding elements is located substantially within each opening. Each holding element is attached to said housing and is movable between an open position and a closed position. A pair of biasing elements is in contact with said housing and said holding elements. The pair of biasing elements is configured so as to urge said holding elements towards one another.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2005Date of Patent: March 17, 2009Inventor: Jeremy Grayson

Patent number: 6769212Abstract: A tool for grasping and securing objects is provided. More specifically, while the present invention is not limited to use with fish, certain embodiments of the present invention provide a tool that allows the user to grasp and hold a fish. In addition, certain embodiments of the present invention also provide for the weighing of a fish or another object held by the tool. Spring biased jaws apply a force to objects being held and this force increases as the weight of the objects being held increases.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2002Date of Patent: August 3, 2004Assignee: Normark CorporationInventor: Jeremy Grayson

Patent number: 6079916Abstract: A rotary power tool incorporates a remotely actuated chuck device. An engagement surface, such as a threaded or helical surface, is defined on an outer circumference of the chuck device over an axial length thereof. An actuator member is disposed concentric and rotatable relative to the engagement surface. In an actuation mode, the actuation member is brought into engagement with the engagement surface so that rotation of the actuator member drives the chuck device axially between gripping and release positions.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 1998Date of Patent: June 27, 2000Assignee: Power Tool Holders, Inc.Inventors: Jeremy Grayson, Keith Buddendeck, Ronald W. Miksa

Patent number: 6079918Abstract: A rotary power tool has a remotely actuated chuck device. A hydraulic actuating system is incorporated in the power tool and is configured to move the chuck device between the gripping and release positions upon hydraulic fluid being supplied to at least one hydraulically driven actuator mounted relative to the tool casing and engaged with the chuck device to move the chuck between gripping and release positions.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 1998Date of Patent: June 27, 2000Assignee: Power Tool Holders, Inc.Inventors: Keith Buddendeck, Jeremy Grayson, Ronald W. Miksa

Patent number: 6079917Abstract: A rotary power tool is provided having a remotely actuated chuck device. The chuck includes an outer sleeve member that is axially movable relative to the drive spindle between a gripping and release position. A sleeve actuating device is provided having a first member engaged with the outer sleeve member and which extends generally radially outward from the drive spindle or chuck. The first member is movable in a direction so as to move the outer sleeve member between the gripping position and release position. The sleeve actuating device includes an actuator member configured with the first member to move the first member upon an external force being applied thereto. The actuator member is generally perpendicular to the axis of the drive spindle and may be limited in length to be confined in the perimeter of the casing. In this manner, an operator can move the chuck device between the gripping release positions at a location remote from the chuck device and drive spindle.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 1998Date of Patent: June 27, 2000Assignee: Power Tool Holders, Inc.Inventors: Ronald W. Miksa, Jeremy Grayson, Keith Buddendeck

Patent number: 6045306Abstract: A rotary power tool is provided having a remotely actuated chuck device. The chuck is mounted onto the end of a drive spindle that extends from the casing of the power tool. The chuck includes an outer sleeve member that is axially movable relative to a drive spindle between a gripping and release position. A base is rotatably advanceable and concentric on the casing. A helical opening is formed in the base.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 1998Date of Patent: April 4, 2000Assignee: Power Tool Holders IncorporatedInventors: Keith Buddendeck, Ronald W.
