Patent number: 11604122Abstract: Various embodiments include systems and apparatuses for reducing contamination levels within optical chambers of particle-detection instruments. In one embodiment, an apparatus to reduce contamination within an optical chamber of a particle-detection instrument is described. The apparatus includes a plenum chamber to at least partially surround an aerosol-focusing nozzle of the particle-detection instrument and accept a filtered gas flow. A curtain-flow concentrating nozzle is coupled to the plenum chamber to produce a curtain flow into the optical chamber to substantially surround an aerosol flow. Other methods and systems are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2019Date of Patent: March 14, 2023Assignee: TSI IncorporatedInventors: Hee-Siew Han, Jeremy Jens Kolb

Patent number: 11486803Abstract: Various embodiments include methods and systems to dilute a sampled particle-laden aerosol stream in a recirculating type of aerosol diluter system. In one embodiment, a system to dilute a sampled aerosol stream includes an aerosol sample inlet. A primary diluter device includes a first inlet to receive the aerosol stream and a second inlet to receive a filtered portion of the aerosol stream and combining the filtered portion with an additional sampled aerosol stream. A flow diverter device splits at least the sampled aerosol stream into a first portion of the sampled aerosol stream and a remaining portion of the sampled aerosol stream. A filter receives the remaining portion of the sampled aerosol stream and provides a filtered aerosol stream to the second inlet of the primary diluter device. Other methods and apparatuses are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2020Date of Patent: November 1, 2022Assignee: TSI IncorporatedInventors: Jason Paul Johnson, Robert C. Anderson, Jeremy Jens Kolb, Aaron Serafin Avenido, Robert Plautz, Steven Keith Isvik

Patent number: 11025718Abstract: Enterprise administrators in a cloud-based environment including a cloud-based server and a repository can selectively impose permissions on items (e.g., files and folders) marked for synchronization (“sync items”). The sync items can be synchronized with the client devices of users by downloading the items along with the permission attributes from the cloud-based server. However, the permissions on those sync items means that any unpermitted changes to the local copies of the sync items do not get uploaded to the cloud-based server. A synchronization client on the client devices detects any changes made locally to the sync items that are not consistent with the permission attributes, and repairs those changes so that the sync items are restored to their most recent states. This ensures that any unauthorized changes made to sync items remain local and do not propagate by the synchronization process to other users.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2019Date of Patent: June 1, 2021Assignee: Box, Inc.Inventors: Brandon Savage, Kunal Parmar, David Grant Sawyer, Lu Pan, Yiming Lu, David MacKenzie, Jeremy Jen-Ming Chiu

Patent number: 10930062Abstract: A computer vision method, executed by one or more processors, for generating a single 3D model view of a geographic scene includes: receiving image data for the scene from a plurality of sensors located at different angles with respect to the geographic scene; dividing the image data into a plurality of image spatial regions; correlating the image data in each image spatial region to obtain a score for each image data in each image spatial region; grouping the image data in each image spatial region into two or more image clusters, based on the scores for each image; performing a multi-ray intersection within each image cluster to obtain a 3D reference point for each region; for each region, combining the one or more clusters, based on the 3D reference point for the region; and registering the combined clusters for each region to obtain a single 3D model view of the scene.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2019Date of Patent: February 23, 2021Assignee: Raytheon CompanyInventors: Jacob Wesely Gallaway, Jeremy Jens Gerhart, Stephen J. Patent number: 10732082Abstract: Various embodiments include methods and systems to dilute a sampled particle-laden aerosol stream. In one embodiment, a system to dilute a sampled aerosol stream includes an aerosol sample inlet. A filter is coupled in fluid communication with and in parallel with a flow-monitoring device to receive the sampled aerosol stream from the aerosol sample inlet. The flow-monitoring device is configured to allow for a passage of particles contained in the sampled aerosol stream. A pressure sensor and a temperature sensor monitor the filter and the flow-monitoring device. An output from the filter and the flow-monitoring device may be directed to particle measurement or particle sizing instrumentation. An actual dilution ratio of the output sent to the particle measurement or particle sizing instrumentation is determined based on a nominal flowrate of the flow-monitoring device and thermodynamic properties of a gas comprising the aerosol stream. Other methods and apparatuses are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2017Date of Patent: August 4, 2020Assignee: TSI IncorporatedInventors: Jason Paul Johnson, Robert Anderson, Jeremy Jens Kolb, Aaron Serafin Avenido, Robert Plautz, Steven Keith Isvik
