  • Patent number: 11173339
Abstract: Assemblies are for attaching a resistance mechanism to an exercise apparatus. In one example, the assembly has a pulley cable having a first end portion for being coupled to the resistance mechanism and a second end portion coupled to the exercise apparatus; and a plunger device facilitating coupling and uncoupling of the pulley cable to and from the exercise apparatus. The plunger device is movable into a first position in which the plunger device couples the pulley cable to the exercise apparatus and into a second position in which the plunger device uncouples the pulley cable from the exercise apparatus.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 27, 2019
Date of Patent: November 16, 2021

  • Patent number: 10786705
Abstract: An exercise machine for leg strengthening, the exercise machine comprising a stationary frame; and a thigh support member and an ankle support member coupled to the frame and configured to support a user's thigh and ankle, respectively, during a hamstring curl exercise motion. The thigh support member and the ankle support member are each movable with respect to the stationary frame during the hamstring curl exercise motion, thus facilitating contraction and extension of both of a hamstring and glute of the user during the hamstring curl exercise motion.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 27, 2018
Date of Patent: September 29, 2020
    Assignee: Life Fitness, LLC

  • Patent number: 8464396
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a hinge apparatus that can include a hinge body having a first portion and a second portion and a hinge pin. The hinge pin can include an axial portion and a gripping portion. The hinge body can include a recess in one of the first portion and the second portion. The recess in the hinge body can receive the gripping portion of the hinge pin to inhibit access to the gripping portion when the hinge body is in the closed position. The gripping portion can be removed from the recess as the hinge body is moved to the open position.
