Patent number: 10995748Abstract: A system for pumping fluid is provided, having two or more submersible pumps, each submersible pump having an inlet, an outlet, a pumping mechanism that pumps fluid from the inlet to the outlet, a fluid level sensor for measuring a fluid level above the inlet, and a controller. The controller is programmed to activate the pumping mechanism when the fluid level sensor senses a minimum fluid level above the inlet and control the speed of the pumping mechanism based on the fluid level sensed by the fluid level sensor above the minimum fluid level between a minimum operating pump speed and a maximum operating pump speed. The submersible pumps are arranged in a vertical stack with the inlets of the submersible pumps spaced vertically. Each controller of each submersible pump operates autonomously relative to controllers of other submersible pumps in the vertical stack.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2017Date of Patent: May 4, 2021Inventor: Jeremy Leonard

Patent number: 10794040Abstract: A method of dredging a bottom of a body of water is provided. Winching stations are positioned around the perimeter of an area to be dredged and a cable from each winching station is connected to a float. The cables pass through a variable resistance pulley assembly attached to a submersible assembly having a cutter and a submersible pump and are tensioned to suspend the submersible assembly. The cutter and submersible pump are activated and the winches are controlled to move the submersible assembly in a dredging pattern. When an obstacle is encountered the resistance of the pulley assembly is decreased and sufficient tension is applied to the cables to lift the submersible assembly toward the float.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2018Date of Patent: October 6, 2020Inventor: Jeremy Leonard

Publication number: 20200215553Abstract: A centrifugal separator for separating solids from a liquid stream has a rotating drum with a perforated outer wall, an auger in the rotating drum, and a driver that rotates the drum and the auger. The drum has an inlet at a first end for receiving the liquid stream, and a solids outlet at a second end. The auger has a helical flight with an outer edge that is immediately adjacent to an inner surface of the outer wall. The driver rotates the rotating drum to apply a centrifugal force to fluids within the rotating drum such that liquid exits via the perforated outer wall, and the auger is rotated at a different speed such that the auger removes solids from an inner surface of the rotating drum and conveys the solids toward the solids outlet.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2019Publication date: July 9, 2020Inventor: Jeremy LEONARD

Patent number: 9027263Abstract: An automated variable speed control system for a cutter head of a dredging cutter has a cutter head and a pump. The pump pumps cuttings from the cutter head through a cuttings discharge line. A sensor monitors amperage draw of the pump. A controller controls speed of movement of the cutter head based upon data received from the sensor. The controller increases a speed of movement of the cutter head through the materials when the amperage draw of the pump falls below the determined amperage range and the controller decreases the speed of movement of the cutter head through the materials when the amperage draw of the pump exceeds the determined amperage range.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2013Date of Patent: May 12, 2015Inventor: Jeremy Leonard

Patent number: 8959747Abstract: In the present disclosure, a structural coupler is disclosed for coupling together structural members, such as trusses. The structural coupler is dimensioned such that it can be installed at an end and within an inner channel of the structural member. The structural member includes a gusset member, a face member and a reinforcing member. The face member is connected to the gusset member and the reinforcing member is connected to both the gusset member and the face member. To couple structural members together, the face member of the structural member installed at an end of a first structural member is mated with the face member of the structural member installed at an end of a second structural member. The structural couplers are then joined together using a coupling mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2012Date of Patent: February 24, 2015Assignee: Calhoun Super Structures, Ltd.Inventors: Jeremy Leonard Calhoun, Richard William Henbid, Dennis Patrick Dalton, William Howard Tran

Patent number: 8935863Abstract: A method of dredging a pond uses a submersible assembly, having a dredging cutter and submersible pump, which is submersed in the pond. The submersible assembly is moved along a bottom of the pond by winches. A controller receives signals from a global positioning system as to the position of the submersible assembly in the pond and moves the submersible assembly in a continuous dredging pattern through the coordinated operation of the winches.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2013Date of Patent: January 20, 2015Inventor: Jeremy Leonard
