  • Patent number: 11136012
Abstract: A rear automatic braking system is automatically overridden and released if the accelerator pedal is depressed with the rate of change which is greater than empirically determined threshold beyond a predetermined percentage of its travel for at least a predetermined length of time and if the vehicle's brake pedal is not depressed.

  • Patent number: 11072330
Abstract: A method of controlling a vehicle-trailer unit includes recording, with an electronic control unit for a trailer assist system, a plurality of maneuvers of the vehicle-trailer unit as each maneuver is executed in an original direction of travel. The method also includes retrieving the recorded plurality of maneuvers in response to an initiating of a tight spot reversal feature for the trailer assist system. The method further includes instructing vehicle systems to perform the retrieved recorded plurality of maneuvers in the reverse order and direction of travel in which they were recorded.

  • Publication number: 20200209870
Abstract: A disclosed vehicle control system includes a controller disposed within a defined closed area that stores a map with location information for objects within the defined closed area. The controller includes a transceiver for wirelessly transmitting the map in a form usable by navigation systems of vehicles within the defined closed area. A sensor assembly disposed within the defined closed area monitors a location and path of vehicles within the defined closed area and communicate information regarding the location and path of the vehicles to the controller. The controller updates the map responsive to changes in a location of vehicles and other objects within the defined closed area and transmits an updated map to vehicles within the defined closed area.

  • Patent number: 10457145
Abstract: Driver misuse of an automatic braking system is determined by comparing the amount of time that a vehicle moves rearwardly until it is stopped, to the amount of time after the last actuation of a brake pedal and when the vehicle is stopped. If the ratio of no brake applied time to the total reverse time is greater than a predetermined value, the automatic braking system is considered to have been misused. Each misuse occurrence increments a counter that is stored in a non-transitory memory device.

  • Publication number: 20110246012
Abstract: A regenerative braking system for a vehicle includes a control module that receives one or more signals based on a vehicle environment and that generates a set speed and a control signal based on the one or more signals. The control signal represents a motoring mode and a generating mode. A motor control module controls bidirectional current flow between an electric motor and a battery based on the control signal. The motor control module controls the direction and magnitude of the current flow based on the control signal and the electric motor provides a decelerating load that slows an actual speed of the vehicle to the set speed.

  • Publication number: 20050222727
Abstract: An apparatus and method for protecting against rollover in a vehicle. The method and apparatus determine a rollover tendency of the vehicle based on the lateral acceleration, the vehicle speed and the change rate of the steering angle. A database of empiric data is preferably provided that includes values for a critical change rate of the steering angle corresponding to specific lateral accelerations in specific vehicle speeds. A critical change rate of the steering angle is determined based on the sensed lateral acceleration and vehicle speed.
