Patent number: 11819868Abstract: A spray gun includes a gun body and valves configured to control flow of material and air through the gun body. A trigger is mounted to the gun body and is disposed relative to the valves such that the trigger actuates the valves in sequence to begin air flow and material flow. A sensor senses when the trigger is in an actuated state and the sensor causes a pump to begin pumping material to the spray gun. Release of the trigger causes the trigger to leave the actuated state. A detent mechanism holes the trigger in a detent state intermediate the actuated state and a resting state. The sensor does not sense the trigger with the trigger in the detent state. The trigger maintains the valves open with the trigger in the detent state.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2022Date of Patent: November 21, 2023Assignee: Graco Minnesota Inc.Inventors: Jeremy P. Jurmu, Douglas S. Ryder, Quincy A. Kesti, Robert J. Gundersen, Jeromy D. Horning, Steve J. Wrobel, Chad R. Taszarek

Publication number: 20230184235Abstract: A pump assembly includes a pump module configured to be supported by a fluid tank and a drive module configured to be supported by the pump module. The drive module is mountable to and dismountable from the pump module. The drive module provides a motive force to the pump module to power pumping by the pump module.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 27, 2021Publication date: June 15, 2023Inventors: Matthew R. Theisen, Bryan K. Colby, Bryce J. Gapinski, Jeremy P. Jurmu, David M. Larsen, Mark D. Shultz

Publication number: 20230136204Abstract: A pumping assembly comprises: a motor (24) including a stator and a rotor, the rotor configured to rotate relative the stator on a pump axis (PA); a drive mechanism (24) connected to the rotor, the drive mechanism (24) configured to receive a rotational output from the rotor and convert the rotational output into a linear input along the pump axis to cause pumping of the fluid; and a piston (34) connected to the drive mechanism (26) to receive the linear input and disposed coaxially with the drive mechanism (26) and the rotor, wherein the piston (34) is configured to reciprocate axially along the pump axis to pump fluid.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2021Publication date: May 4, 2023Inventors: Matthew R. Theisen, Arthur T. Graf, Bryan K. Colby, Andrew J. Ericson, Thomas F. Janecek, Christopher A. Lins, Alexander J. Daeger, David M. Larsen, Jeremy P. Jurmu, William M. Blenkush, Mark D. Patent number: 11333137Abstract: A transfer pump includes a drive module having electronic components and a fluid module not including electronic components. The drive module provides motive power to a pump of the fluid module to power pumping by the fluid module. The transfer pump further includes a spout extending mounted to an outlet connector of the fluid module by an inlet end of the spout interfacing with an outlet end of the outlet connector. The spout is repositionable relative to the outlet connector while mounted to the outlet connector.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 2021Date of Patent: May 17, 2022Assignee: Graco Minnesota Inc.Inventors: Jeremy P. Jurmu, David M. Larsen

Publication number: 20210372387Abstract: A transfer pump includes a drive module having electronic components and a fluid module not including electronic components. The drive module provides motive power to a pump of the fluid module to power pumping by the fluid module. The drive module is movably mounted to the fluid module at dynamic and static interfaces to power reciprocation of a pumping component of the fluid module by the dynamic interface and such the drive module supports the fluid module at the static interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 27, 2021Publication date: December 2, 2021Inventors: David M. Larsen, Jeremy P. Jurmu, Mark D. Shultz, Quincy A. Kesti, Marcos M. Rodriguez
