Publication number: 20250124519Abstract: Examples provide estimated sector-specific transaction data with enhanced reliability using sector-specific data set(s) where validation data for the specific sector is unavailable. A regression analysis is used to generate one or more regression coefficient(s) using the validation data and data set(s) for one or more other sectors within a geographic area during a selected time-period. The regression coefficient(s) are applied to biased data sets for which validation data is unavailable to generate de-biased transaction data for the selected sector. The system produces sector-specific data with enhanced reliability and greater accuracy while reducing system resource usage where validation data for the selected sector is not available.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2023Publication date: April 17, 2025Inventors: Jeremy Pastore, Kolli Parasuram, Raghav Datta

Publication number: 20190065874Abstract: A fraud prevention system, method and medium analyzes a fraud prevention image, or a sequence of fraud prevention images, including a facial region of the user and a card associated with the user. The systems, methods and mediums may enable an image parser, a facial recognizer, a communication manager and an authenticator. The image parser may be adapted to parse the fraud prevention image into a facial image and a device image. The facial recognizer may be adapted to analyze the facial image to generate a current facial signature of the user. The authenticator may be adapted to authenticate the user based at least on comparison to the current facial signature and an enrolled facial signature. The communication manager may request a device verification based on a device signature and the authentication of the user. A liveness detector may verify liveness of the user within the fraud prevention image.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2017Publication date: February 28, 2019Inventors: Jean-Pierre Gerard, Steven Klocinski, Jeremy Pastore, Roopa A. Patent number: 10185807Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for the real-time active surveillance of disease. The system generates an outbreak detection model by analyzing the spending records of individuals who are known to be infected to identify purchases and purchase patterns that correlate to infection in the population with a disease. Based on the identified purchases, the system generates probabilistic identification criteria and merges the criteria to simulation models of infection spread by geography to generate a geospatial outbreak detection model. The system applies the generated model to spending records, in real time, to identify and monitor disease spread in the population. The system can also generate alerts if the likelihood that an individual is infected, or one or more individuals in a set or population is infected exceeds a threshold. Actions are taken at remote devices, such as mobile phones, computers and POS terminals in certain embodiments.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2014Date of Patent: January 22, 2019Assignee: MASTERCARD INTERNATIONAL INCORPORATEDInventors: Jeremy Pastore, Michael Zhao, Arun Elangovan

Publication number: 20170103424Abstract: Systems and methods for providing consumers with mood-based advertisements and coupons according to diagnostic measurements are described. A mood of a consumer is determined utilizing diagnostic measurement(s) received through a consumer's portable device. An advertisement or coupon for a product affiliated with a mood correlative with the consumer's mood is selected and transmitted to the consumer's portable consumer device. The mood affiliated with the product of an advertisement or coupon may be based upon historic consumer purchasing.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 13, 2015Publication date: April 13, 2017Applicant: MASTERCARD INTERNATIONAL INCORPORATEDInventors: Jeremy Pastore, Arun Elangovan, Michael Zhao

Patent number: 9412098Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for determining an optimized sequence of visits by a consumer to a plurality of merchant locations irrespective of travel distance. The system is configured to receive, from the consumer, errand data including start time and start and finish location and a plurality of merchant locations to visit. The system also generates one or more models for predicting visit durations the merchant locations as a function of time using transaction data and location data associated with a plurality of consumers that previously visited the merchant locations. Based on the generated models, and current and historical travel/traffic information and the errand data, the system generates an optimized sequence of visits for the consumer.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2015Date of Patent: August 9, 2016Assignee: Mastercard International IncorporatedInventors: Michael Zhao, Jeremy Pastore, Arun Elangovan
