  • Patent number: 7465181
Abstract: A device for locking a USB device to a USB header includes a member secured to a USB header and selectively movable between a locked position that blocks outward movement of a spring finger of the USB header and an unlocked position that permits outward movement of the spring finger. The selectively moveable member may include a collar secured around the USB header. In one embodiment, the collar slides in an axial direction relative to the axis of the USB header. In another embodiment, the collar slides in a transverse direction relative to the axis of the USB header. In yet another embodiment, the selectively moveable member is a lever, button or dial coupled to a collar positioned around the USB header. For example, the member may be a lever pivotally coupled to the collar.

  • Publication number: 20080276761
Abstract: An apparatus for positioning a fastener in a driving system. A positioning assembly is positioned at the first end of a guide tube to engage a fastener driven by a driver shaft out of the guide tube. The positioning assembly includes a first jaw having an interior cavity and a mounting portion allowing the jaw to be mounted to the guide tube. The positioning assembly includes a second jaw having an interior cavity and a mounting tab allowing the jaw to be mounted to the guide tube. The first and second jaw are rotatably coupled to the guide tube in a retractable manner such that a fastener exiting the guide tube separates the jaws and is centered about the axis passing longitudinally through the guide tube.

  • Patent number: 7438577
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include an apparatus and a method for locking a cam lever, which positions a second card as inserted into a connector on a first card, and activating the second card with a coupling member. In one embodiment, the second card is inserted between a pair of guides secured to the first card into a connector on the first card. A hinged cam lever on either a guide or the second card positions the second card. A coupling member on the cam lever can be moved to lock the cam lever in place and engage a switch on the second card to activate the second card. When removal of the second card is desired, the coupling member on the cam lever can be moved to unlock the cam lever and disengage the switch on the second card to deactivate the second card.

  • Publication number: 20080222280
Abstract: A pseudo-agent is disclosed herein that bridges this divide. For purposes of the discussion herein, a pseudo-agent is a machine that is installed on a fully capable host machine, such as a Windows or UNIX machine, and that gathers and evaluates content from a management server, takes actions if so instructed, and reports the results of its evaluation upstream. However, unlike an agent in a traditional management system, which inspects and acts on the local machine, the pseudo-agent actually inspects and acts on a remote device, or many remote devices.

  • Patent number: 7384299
Abstract: An apparatus for latching, aligning, and connecting a first connector located in a chassis with a second connector on a cable. The invention comprises a plurality of trough segments coupled in series. The trough segments include a distal trough segment having a retainer for securing and axially orienting a cable connector, a proximal trough segment having a latch element selectively secureable to a guide passage, and one or more intermediate trough segments coupled between the distal trough segment and the proximal trough segment. Each individual trough segment is pivotally coupled to any adjacent trough segment to allow bending of the cable trough. The cable trough formed by the collective trough segments may be directed into the guide passage for coupling of the cable connector to an internal chassis connector and latching of the cable trough in position within the guide passage.

  • Publication number: 20080053495
Abstract: A fluid cleaning system includes a fluid source connected to a pump that is used to increase the pressure of the fluid. A two-way valve selectively allows the higher pressure fluid to flow back into the tank, or to flow to a rotary union. The union has a nozzle attached to it to provide a fluid stream to contact an object, such as a workpiece, to be cleaned of dirt, debris, or surface irregularities. The union is attached to a robot arm, and contains locating features which allow the fluid stream to be accurately located relative to the workpiece. This allows the entire system to be automated, thereby providing advantages such as speed and efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7257593
Abstract: A system and method for categorizing a document in a document management system, wherein said document management system comprises a tree of nodes, and enables a document to be categorized in a plurality of nodes. Each node has a category label indicative of a document category. Unique vocabulary terms are listed wherein each vocabulary term represents only one node in the tree and comprises that node's category label. A checkbox is provided for each of the vocabulary terms whereby a user may select one or more vocabulary term by checking a corresponding checkbox. From the checked terms, a set of vocabulary terms is generated for associating a document with all of the nodes corresponding to the selected vocabulary terms.

  • Publication number: 20020129273
Abstract: Methods, systems, computer program products, and methods of doing business by securely serving content to requesters in a computer networking environment. All content to be served is stored on read-only media (or, alternatively, on media for which write capability can be disabled). By preventing write access, a number of content substitution security exposures (such as Web site defacing) are avoided. Web pages or Web documents to be served cannot be overwritten with alternative content by hacking into a server device when using the teachings of the present invention. Similarly, files provided for downloading from a site using File Transfer Protocol (“FTP”) cannot be overwritten with alternative content by hackers. In the unlikely event that an overwriting occurs (e.g. when content is copied from the read-only media into system memory for performance reasons, and security of the memory is somehow compromised), the content will self-repair using teachings of the present invention.
