Abstract: A bonusing system allocates bonus awards randomly within a plurality of sets of indicia by inserting a bonus triggering indicia within a subset of the plurality of sets of indicia. Each set of indicia is randomized or shuffled for use in a base game. One of the sets of indicia is randomly selected for use in the base game. During play of the base game, a player is automatically paid a bonus award upon receiving the bonus triggering indicia. If the player achieves a winning outcome at the base game, the player is also paid an award associated with such winning outcome. The bonusing system is configured for use with a variety of wagering games, including video poker, keno and blackjack among others.
