  • Patent number: 7056601
Abstract: Disclosed is an OLED device comprising an anode and a cathode and located there-between a light emitting layer containing a light emitting dopant and a host comprising a monoanthracene derivative of formula (I): wherein R1–R8 are H; R9 is not the same as R10; R9 is a biphenyl group containing no fused rings with aliphatic carbon ring members; R10 is an ortho-substituted- or meta monosubstituted phenyl group; provided that R9 and R10 are free of amines and sulfur compounds.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 24, 2003
Date of Patent: June 6, 2006
    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company

  • Patent number: 6350567
Abstract: A silver halide photographic element comprising a silver halide emulsion which is greater than 50 mole-% silver chloride, said emulsion containing an isothiazolone compound represented by the formula wherein R1 is a substituent; and Z contains the carbon atoms necessary to form a substituted or unsubstituted non-aromatic ring, wherein the isothiazolone compound was added before or during precipitation of the emulsion.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 7, 1999
Date of Patent: February 26, 2002
    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company
Inventors: Benjamin T. Chen, Roger L. Klaus, Jeri L. Mount
  • Patent number: 5906913
Abstract: A high chloride {100} tabular grain emulsion is disclosed containing a non-uniform distribution of iodide to increase sensitivity. A high percentage of the {100} tabular grains have one or more crystal lattice dislocations lines at sites of maximum iodide concentration. The dislocation lines are distinctive in that they are oriented parallel to at least one edge of the {100} tabular grains. The mechanism for producing the dislocation lines relies upon a relatively slow rate of addition of iodide ion, improving the reproducibility of emulsion properties in manufacture. Relatively low overall levels of iodide are employed, allowing rapid rates of development.
