Patent number: 11497142Abstract: An assembly (110) for dissipating heat generated by a heat generating electrical component (16) which is surface mounted on a circuit board (11) in a surface mounting process. The assembly comprises a heat buffer (120) made of a thermally and electrically conducing material, and being surface mounted on the circuit board (11) so as to be soldered to a thermal flag (18) of the heat generating electrical component (16). The assembly further comprises a heat sink (12) in thermal contact with the heat buffer, and a galvanic separation (13) between the heat buffer and heat sink. The heat capacitance of the heat buffer can absorb short term increases in heat dissipation from the electrical component, before the heat is further dissipated to the galvanically separated heat sink. This may drastically improve performance of the surface mounted component.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2019Date of Patent: November 8, 2022Assignee: AROS ELECTRONICS ABInventor: Jerker Hellström

Patent number: 10348233Abstract: An electrical motor system and a method for operating the electrical motor system are disclosed. The electrical motor system comprises a direct current (DC) source, a filter connected in parallel with the DC source and an electric motor with at least two sets of windings. A voltage signal is provided from the DC source to the inverter circuit where the signal is modulated. The modulated signal is then supplied from the inverter circuit to each set of windings with a respective time offset between each set of windings respectively, providing a very efficient DC bus ripple reduction. Hereby, it is e.g. possible to use small filter capacitors/capacitor banks in electrical motor systems.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 2016Date of Patent: July 9, 2019Assignee: AROS ELECTRONICS ABInventor: Jerker Hellström

Patent number: 8924017Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention discloses an apparatus for recyclable absorption of electric retardation energy from a multiple axis industrial robotics system, including a robot control unit and at least one drive unit, which generates the electrical retardation energy at retardation. By an apparatus according to the present invention, the electric retardation energy, which occurs when a drive unit is retarded and is transferred into generator mode, may be recycled by the brake unit of the apparatus, which accelerates a mechanical device connected to the brake unit. The electric retardation energy is thus transferred into kinetic energy that may be stored in mechanical devices. An embodiment of the present invention also refers to a corresponding method for recyclable absorption of electric retardation energy from a multiple axis industrial robotics system.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2006Date of Patent: December 30, 2014Assignee: Aros Electronics ABInventors: Jerker Hellström, Magnus Wide

Patent number: 5862835Abstract: A drive device for a weaving machine has a motor control unit connected to an asynchronous motor. An electric supply network supplies the motor control unit with electric power which the motor control unit converts to have a substantially higher frequency. This higher frequency power is then supplied to the asynchronous motor causing the motor to operate at a high r.p.m. A speed reducing unit is connected between the motor and a drive shaft of the weaving machine. The speed reducing unit reduces the r.p.m. of the motor and the motor drives the weaving machine via the drive shaft at the r.p.m. of the weaving machine.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1996Date of Patent: January 26, 1999Assignee: IRO ABInventor: Jerker Hellstrom

Patent number: 4784189Abstract: A device for surveying the insertion of a weft yarn in a shed of a jet loom, comprises an arrival sensor arranged at one end of said shed for detecting the arrival of weft yarn there. The arrival sensor and at least one yarn sensor are connected to a surveillance circuit measuring the period of time lapsed since releasing a stopping device and periodically correcting the measured period of time on the basis of the yarn sensor signal. The surveillance circuit only generates a signal indicating the completion of the weft yarn insertion if the following two conditions are simultaneously fulfilled: The measured period of time exceeds a predetermined period of time between 80% and 99.5% of the period of time required for a complete weft yarn insertion cycle, and the arrival sensor generates a signal representing the arrival of the weft yarn.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 1988Date of Patent: November 15, 1988Assignee: Aktiebolaget IROInventor: Jerker Hellstrom

Patent number: 4574353Abstract: The invention relates to a yarn supply device group for attaching to a textile machine, in particular a ring knitting machine with electrically controllable switching and actuating devices in every supply device which are connected in a signal-transmitting circuit by a bunch of lines common to all supply devices to a central control mechanism. Previously, every supply device in the group had to be "marked" manually prior to the start of operation. In addition, a bunch of lines with large dimensions was necessary, since each supply device needed at least one separate line.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1983Date of Patent: March 4, 1986Assignee: Aktiebolaget IROInventors: Jerker Hellstrom, Lars H. Patent number: 4298172Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus which enables thread to be wound onto the motor driven storage drum of a thread storage and feeding device for a thread processing machine strictly continuously and uniformly with the aim of ensuring that the thread as wound off the thread supply bobbin is wound onto the storage drum in such a way that variations in the tension of the thread as pulled off the storage drum are eliminated. This is achieved by controlling the number of revolutions of the motor in response to a control signal which is derived from the thread intermediate supply on the drum and the actual thread consumption, i.e., the average speed of the thread leaving the drum.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 1980Date of Patent: November 3, 1981Assignees: Aktiebolaget IRO, Aros Electronics ABInventor: Jerker Hellstrom
