Patent number: 9948889Abstract: A method relating to a video conference connecting a first terminal to a plurality of second terminals via a switching server is disclosed. The switching server receives a plurality of uplink video streams from the first terminal via a single transport path, and the switching server sends a downlink video stream based on the uplink video streams to each of the second terminals. The method involves the steps of collecting information relating to the use of each of the second terminals and determining an order between the uplink video streams based on the information. The method further involves the steps of generating instructions for the first terminal to adjust the plurality of uplink video streams based on the order, and informing the first terminal of the instructions. A switching server and a first terminal involved in the method are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: July 4, 2014Date of Patent: April 17, 2018Assignee: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET LM ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Jerker Mattias Zetterlund, Bo Burman, Patrik Sandgren

Publication number: 20170086162Abstract: A method of retrieving location information for a UE connected to a managed access network. The method is performed in an ePDG upon completion of: the UE attaching to an access point of the managed access network including obtaining an outer IP address from an address space owned by the managed access network; establishing an IP tunnel between the ePDG and the UE over the managed access network, wherein the IP tunnel uses addresses from the address space owned by the managed access network for outer headers of traffic sent via the tunnel; and the UE registering with a service network via the IP tunnel, including obtaining an inner IP address from an address space of the service network. The ePDG receives a request for location information for the UE from a PDN-GW or AAA, server, and sends a request for location information for the UE to a DHCP server of the managed access network, the request for location information comprising the outer IP address of the UE.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2014Publication date: March 23, 2017Inventors: Håkan Österlund, Jerker Mattias Zetterlund

Patent number: 9054957Abstract: A media gateway controller (MGC) is described herein that implements a shared risk group package to control and prevent a media gateway (MG) from establishing redundant links like a primary link and a secondary link that use resources that share the same risk of failure. Essentially, the MGC uses the shared risk group package to control which resources like ephemeral terminations are used by the MG to establish the primary link and the secondary link such that if any of the resources associated with the primary link fail then the secondary link remains operational within the MG and if any of the resources associated with the secondary link fail then the primary link remains operational within the MG.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2013Date of Patent: June 9, 2015Inventors: Jerker Mattias Zetterlund, Paul Wilson

Patent number: 8266299Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for deciding, in an IP-based communication system, whether a local media/media release is allowed between a first and at least a second terminal. The method is characterized in that the decision is based on information established by an application server in an multimedia core network. The present invention further also relates to a session border controller unit, a session border controller, an application server and a computer program product for performing said method.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2007Date of Patent: September 11, 2012Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (Publ)Inventor: Jerker Mattias Zetterlund
