  • Publication number: 20250129700
Abstract: A solid particle handling system for downhole pumps operating at low flow rates is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes an outer tubing, such as a production tubing, and additional an inner tubing positioned therewithin. This configuration facilitates increased fluid speed, promoting vertical movement of solid particles. A designated storage area between the outer tubing and the inner tubing accumulates particles, while a diverter optimizes fluid redirection and particle flow. In one operational mode, the fluid medium, along with solid particles, flows at an increased speed through the smaller diameter inner tubing. In another mode, accumulated particles are stored in the designated area, preventing pump blockage. The system enhances pump reliability, especially in scenarios with solid particle presence.

  • Patent number: 11143009
Abstract: A downhole separator and method for use of the same for fluid mediums with low viscosity are disclosed. In one embodiment, the downhole separator has a housing with inlet openings that draw a fluid flow into an elongated annular separation chamber within the housing. The fluid flow advances under angular momentum imparted by a rotation of a shaft located in the housing. The shaft includes a profiled surface that imparts drag to the fluid medium and two local pressure increasing units to effect at least partial separation of the fluid medium into the following: (i) a liquid portion upwardly traversing the fluid passageway of the shaft via the inlet ports; (ii) a gaseous portion upwardly traversing the elongated annular separation chamber to the plurality of upper gaseous portion outlets; and (iii) a solid portion downwardly traversing the elongated annular separation chamber to the plurality of lower solid portion outlets.

  • Patent number: 10995745
Abstract: A submersible pump assembly for transference of a fluid medium with low viscosity is disclosed. In one embodiment, the submersible pump assembly includes a cylinder block having cylinders and pistons. A drive shaft is rotatably supported in the cylinder block and coupled to a drive unit. An inclined leading plate is coupled to the pistons and the drive shaft such that the pistons are configured to be axially driven in a reciprocating motion within the cylinders upon rotation of the inclined leading plate. A suction chamber and a pressure chamber are each located in fluid communication with the cylinders. In one operational mode, the fluid medium is transferred from the suction chamber to the pressure chamber during the reciprocating motion of the pistons, when the pistons are active. In another operational mode, the fluid medium is circulated through the suction chamber.

  • Patent number: 10883488
Abstract: A submersible pump assembly for transference of a fluid medium with low viscosity is disclosed. In one embodiment, the submersible pump assembly includes multiple pump units co-axially aligned with a common drive shaft, a common suction chamber, and a common pressure chamber. Each of the pump units includes an active operational mode wherein the fluid medium is transferred from the common suction chamber to the common pressure chamber during as well as an inactive operational mode wherein the fluid medium is circulated through the common suction chamber. Each of the pump units is individually actuatable.
