Abstract: A method of reminding a user of a forthcoming event, the method being performed by a processor and comprising the steps of: (a) acquiring the time when the forthcoming event is due to occur; (b) acquiring a user-selected digital image associated with the said forthcoming event; (c) storing the digital image in a digital image storage device; and (d) displaying the said digital image before the user a predetermined time period in advance of the said time when the said forthcoming event is due to occur, in order to remind the user of the said forthcoming event.

Abstract: A portable audio and/or video output device comprises display means, data storage means, and selection means. The storage means is arranged to store data and the display means are arranged to display a graphical representation indicative of some or all of the stored data. The selection means are arranged to select a portion of the data in response to an action executed by a user of the device viewing the graphical representation.

Abstract: An audio user interface is provided in which items are represented in an audio field by corresponding synthesized sound sources from where sounds related to the items appear to emanate. The sound sources are located in the audio field relative to an audio field reference. In order to rotate the audio field either in response to user input or to achieve a particular stabilisation of the audio field, the audio-field reference can be offset relative to presentation reference determined by a mounting configuration of audio output devices through which the sound sources are synthesised. To assist the user in appreciating the current orientation of the audio field, a visual indication is given of the orientation of the audio-field reference relative to a predetermined indicator reference taking account, at least at a component level, of any change in value of said offset and any change in value of indicator-reference orientation relative to the presentation reference.
