  • Patent number: 7108624
Abstract: Belt for use in a continuous variable transmission, comprising an endless carrier for taking op tensile forces, and a plurality of transverse elements moveable in the longitudinal direction along the carrier. The elements are provided with at least one saddle surface for contacting the carrier. The saddle surface defines an ultimate mutual position of the carrier and the elements relative to each other within the belt in radial direction, with a tapered lower element part including a rocking edge and an upper part extending radially beyond the carrier, when the carrier and surface are in mutual contact. Each axial end of the surface is adjoined by a limb extending predominantly in radial outward direction, thereby defining a recess open to the radial outer end of the element allowing free insertion of the carrier in the recess.

  • Patent number: 7076986
Abstract: In a process for forming a linking element for a push belt for a continuously variable transmission, material is displaced from a central portion of the linking element during a blanking process, which central portion is substantially centrally located in the horizontal transverse direction. A blanking member which is applied during the blanking process, comprises a shaping surface which abuts against a front surface or a back surface of the linking element under the influence of pressure during the blanking process. The blanking member is provided with a relatively elevated central portion, which serves to displace material from the central portion of the linking element during the blanking process.

  • Patent number: 6762552
Abstract: An organic electroluminescent device (41) has a plurality of independently addressable electroluminescent elements (51A, B, C, D, E, F) and comprises a patterned first electrode layer comprising a plurality of first electrodes (43A, B, C) and a second electrode layer (26A, B, C, D); an organic, optionally patterned, electroluminescent layer (25) disposed between said first and said second electrode layer; an organic charge transport layer having charge transport areas (24A, B, C, D, E, F) disposed between the first electrode layer and the organic electroluminescent layer (25); and a relief pattern (27) extending between and along neighboring first electrodes. The relief pattern separates said charge transport areas along neighboring first electrodes which has the effect of disconnecting any current path between neighboring first electrodes via the charge transport layer. Thus, the EL device has a small leakage current and can be easily manufactured.

  • Patent number: 6709705
Abstract: A method of providing a track (12) on a substrate (10) includes a first step wherein a first liquid (1) is applied to the substrate (10) in accordance with a desired double pattern (11) and, upon solidification of said first liquid, a second step wherein a second liquid (2) is applied within the double pattern (11), forming the track (12) upon solidification. The double pattern (11) laterally bounds the track (12). The liquids (1, 2) may be applied by a dispenser or an ink jet printer. The first and the second step may be carried out in one operation, wherein the application of the first liquid (1) has a lead (3) over the application of the second liquid (2). A narrow track (12) may be formed when the first liquid (1) has a head group that adheres to the substrate (10) and a tail that repels the second liquid (2).
