  • Publication number: 20110139776
Abstract: A telescopic container includes a first enclosure section defining a first interior volume and being open on one side. A second enclosure section defines a second interior volume and is open on one side. The open sides face each other. The second section has exterior dimensions enabling movement thereof into the first enclosure section. A plurality of telescopic units connect the first and second enclosure sections. The telescoping units having operable length such that when fully extended, the first and second enclosure sections are separated from each other and a work surface is defined having an area exceeding a combined surface area of the first and second enclosure sections. The operable length is such that when fully retracted, the second enclosure section is nested in the first enclosure section to define a total interior volume less than the sum of the first and second interior volumes.

  • Patent number: 7539079
Abstract: A system comprises a plurality of seismic transmitters, at least one seismic source array, and a processor. Each seismic source array comprises a plurality of seismic source-array elements, mounted within the seismic source array; and a plurality of near-field sensors, wherein each near-field sensor is mounted within the seismic source array in the vicinity of one of the seismic source-array elements. The processor is adapted to determine relative positions of the seismic source-array elements on the seismic source array from the seismic signals transmitted by the seismic transmitters and received at the near-field sensors on the seismic source array.

  • Publication number: 20080251513
Abstract: Devices are disclosed for telescopic containers. In one example embodiment, a device for a telescopic container includes a first portion having a top surface connected to a bottom surface by one or more sides. Further, the device includes a second portion also having a top surface connected to a bottom surface by one or more sides. Further still, the device includes more than one telescopic units, which are located on the top and bottom surfaces of the first and second portions, that expandably connect both the first top surface to the second top surface and the second bottom surface to the second bottom surface. Whether rectangular or wheel shaped, for example, the container may store items in a contracted state, and, in an expanded state, the container transforms into a working surface with an increased surface area as compared to the container in its contracted state.

  • Patent number: 7409919
Abstract: A cleaning device for a seismic streamer includes a housing placeable the exterior of the streamer. A turbine is associated with the housing and is configured to be rotationally driven by movement of the streamer through a body of water. A drive element is associated with the housing and is configured to convert rotational motion of the turbine to motive power to move the housing along the streamer. At least one cleaning element is associated with the housing and is cooperatively engaged with the exterior of the seismic streamer. A method for cleaning a streamer includes towing the streamer through the water. Motion of water is converted into motive power to move a cleaning device along the streamer.

  • Patent number: 7145833
Abstract: A seismic streamer cleaning device includes a means for converting motion of water past a seismic streamer into movement of the device as the streamer is towed through the water. A cleaning element is cooperatively engaged with the device and an exterior surface of the streamer. In one embodiment, the cleaning element includes brush bristles.

  • Publication number: 20060126432
Abstract: A seismic streamer includes a jacket covering an exterior of the streamer. At least one strength member extends along the length of the jacket. The strength member is disposed inside the jacket. Seismic sensors are disposed at spaced apart locations along the interior of the jacket. A flexible, acoustically transparent material fills the space inside the jacket. The material is introduced into the inside of the jacket in liquid form and undergoes a state change thereafter. The strength member, prior to and during the state change, is maintained in substantially a same position with respect to the jacket as would occur during ordinary operation of the streamer. The maintaining position is performed at least at a location along the jacket where a device is to be coupled externally to the jacket.
