  • Patent number: 9732797
Abstract: A wheel bearing arrangement for a vehicle, comprising at least one roller bearing, wherein at least one of the roller bearings is a ball bearing, which includes an inner ring and an outer ring, wherein both rings have raceways for balls being located between the rings. To ensure a sufficient lifetime of the roller bearings and to minimize the friction in the bearing, the at least one of the rings of the bearing arrangement is made from a ball bearing steel produced by a powder metallurgical process using a powder metallurgy component including 0.5 to 2.0 weight-% C, a maximum of 0.035 weight-% S, 3.0 to 5.0 weight-% Cr, 1.0 to 4.0 weight-% V, 1.0 to 12.0 weight-% W and 2.0 to 12.0 weight-% Mo, wherein at least one raceway has a radius and the balls have a diameter which fulfills the equation: radius/diameter>0.53.

  • Patent number: 9541134
Abstract: A pinion bearing arrangement of a gearbox for a vehicle or aircraft, providing at least one roller bearing. At least one of the roller bearings is a ball bearing, having an inner ring and an outer ring, wherein both rings have raceways for balls being located between the rings. To ensure a sufficient lifetime of the roller bearings the invention includes that at least one of the rings is made from a ball bearing steel produced by a powder metallurgical process using a powder metallurgy component including 0.5 to 2.0 weight-% C, a maximum of 0.035 weight-% S, 3.0 to 5.0 weight-% Cr, 1.0 to 4.0 weight-% V, 1.0 to 12.0 weight-% W and 2.0 to 12.0 weight-% Mo, wherein at least one raceway has a radius (rI/O) and the balls have a diameter (DB) which fulfill the equation: rI/O/DB>0.53.

  • Patent number: 8939650
Abstract: This bearing comprises a fixed outer ring and a rotatable inner ring, and at least one lubrication ring having at least one lubrication duct extending between an outer surface and an inner surface of the lubrication ring. The at least one lubrication duct is placed so that the scalar product of a vector collinear to the longitudinal axis of the lubrication duct, and a vector (VL1) collinear to the tangent line (L1) to an outer cylindrical surface of the inner ring, at the point where the longitudinal axis of the lubrication duct (270) intersects the outer cylindrical surface of the inner ring, and oriented in the same direction as the rotation direction (F) of the inner ring, is strictly superior to zero, said vectors being projected in a plane (P2) perpendicular to the rotation axis of the bearing.
