  • Publication number: 20080091914
Abstract: A system and method include receiving a telephone number corresponding to a unique pair of first and second parameters in which the first parameter corresponds to a device having a plurality of ports and the second parameter corresponds to one of the ports of the device. A storage includes units respectively corresponding to different first parameters with each unit respectively having a physical location in the storage. Each unit has members respectively corresponding to different second parameters with each of the second parameters respectively corresponding to a member of each unit. The parameters are determined using the telephone number. A physical location in storage of a unit corresponding to the first parameter is determined. The member corresponding to the second parameter of the unit which corresponds to the first parameter is then identified.

  • Publication number: 20070291794
Abstract: A system and method of determining broadband transport performance data are provided. The system includes an input to receive a request including a telephone number corresponding to a broadband data transport element. The system also includes logic to map the telephone number to a port address of network equipment associated with the broadband data transport element. The system further includes a performance analysis tool to determine performance information associated with the broadband data transport element.

  • Publication number: 20070180379
Abstract: To overcome the physical limitation of the display screen size, some computing devices may use the display screen as a window to show a subset of a larger “virtual desktop”. For example, a laptop with an 800×600 pixel display may show a subset of a 1280×1024 pixel virtual desktop. The user then manipulates scrollbars on the sides of the display to move the window to the portion of the virtual desktop he wishes to view. The display screen may pose a particular problem for personal digital assistants (PDAs), cell phones, and other handheld devices which have relatively small displays. A hand held device of the present disclosure is its own mouse, such that a virtual desktop may be navigated by moving the device itself to display desired portions of the virtual desktop on the screen of the device.

  • Publication number: 20070064612
Abstract: In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, a method provides a circuit from a first customer location to a second customer location. The method includes selecting a path-starting node from a network of nodes, and selecting a path-ending node from the network of nodes. The path-starting node is connectable to the first customer location, and the path-ending node is connectable to the second customer location. The method also includes selecting at least one subset of files from a database containing a set of files. Each file of the set of files contains segment data pertaining to a segment that connects a pair of nodes within the network. Each of the at least one subset contains data pertaining to a path from the path-starting node to the path-ending node. If more than one subset of files is selected, selecting an optimal path corresponding to an optimal subset of files.

  • Publication number: 20060023860
Abstract: A method of detecting misrouted inter-office transport facility routes in a telecommunications system is disclosed. The method includes receiving a plurality of provisioning orders corresponding to a plurality of newly requested inter-office facility routes to be added to the telecommunications system, and comparing the plurality of newly requested inter-office facility routes to a plurality of preferred routes that have been stored in a preferred routes database to identify a first set of routes that match the preferred routes, a second set of misrouted routes where a preferred route has been defined and previously stored, but where the newly requested route does not match the preferred route, and a third set of unmatched routes where a preferred route has not been previously stored in the preferred routes database.
