Abstract: A light assembly for a swimming pool which comprises a solar panel (46) for generating electricity, the solar panel being located exteriorly of the swimming pool, a battery (52) electrically connected to the solar panel, a low voltage light (36) mounted in the swimming pool, and electrical wires (68) extending between the battery (52) and the low voltage light (36) to supply power thereto. In a preferred embodiment, the light assembly may be incorporated in a retrofit stair assembly.

Abstract: An above-ground swimming pool including structural paneling defining a pool perimeter, a plurality of structural vertical posts regularly spaced apart along the pool perimeter and retaining the structural paneling, a structural ledge supported by the structural vertical posts and retaining the structural paneling at a top end thereof along the pool perimeter, and a plurality of decorative panels installed so as to substantially hide the structural paneling from view is addressed.

Abstract: A spa for an above-ground pool, the spa comprising a shell adapted to receive water therein and including a perimeter wall, an opening in the perimeter wall, a support structure adapted to support the shell so that the opening corresponds with a pool opening to define a passage providing fluid communication between the pool and the spa, and a removable partition for closing the passage. Also, a spa comprising a shell including an enclosure for receiving water therein, at least one bench defining a seating surface at an adequate height, a top coping defining a top end of the shell, and an outer wall extending downwardly from the top coping and having a bottom end which is lower than the seating surface, such that the shell is stackable onto a similar shell with the bottom end of the outer wall resting on the top coping of the similar shell.

Abstract: A base member for receiving the bottom of a wall of an above-ground pool comprising a plurality of rail members each having a first rail portion, a second rail portion and a hinge linking the rail portions, and an indexing device between the rail portions such that the rail portions can be locked in one of a plurality of orientations about the hinge, accommodating one of predetermined perimeters of the wall, whereby the member receives the bottom of the wall along the perimeter.

Abstract: A stair portion for a stair assembly for a swimming pool, comprising a bottomless hollow body having lateral surfaces and a top surface defining steps. The bottomless hollow body is adapted to be received in a pool with bottom edges of the lateral surface lying against a bottom of the pool such that a user person can move in or out of the pool using the steps. The bottomless hollow body is adapted to be connected to a pool connector portion for being secured adjacent to a sidewall of the pool. The bottomless hollow body is adapted to be nested with another bottomless hollow body, so as to facilitate transportation, warehouse storage or maneuverability in a body of water.

Abstract: An above ground swimming pool support structure is made up a plurality of posts, wherein each post is a blow-moulded unit having a base portion and top portion with a planar shoulder. A plurality of universal coping members also blow-moulded are interconnected end to end at selective angles, one end abutting the other at the planar shoulder of each post. A plurality of holes are provided at the opposite ends of the coping members. The connection of the adjacent coping members at the selective angles is maintained by pins inserted into aligned holes at the respective interconnected ends of the adjacent coping members, such that an endless top rail supported by the posts can be formed using the universal coping members for coping a flexible pool panel end to end of an above ground swimming pool in a preselected size. The advantages include the reduced manufacturing cost resulted from the limited number of moulds for manufacturing the moulded components and reduced labour required for erecting the pool.

Abstract: A lid has a manually operable latching arrangement which prevents inadvertent disengagement of the lid from a container body even during severe service conditions. Latching is effected by a captive plate on the lid, the plate carrying a latching strap and a blocking member. In the latching position, the blocking member engages under a lip or flange at the upper edge of the container body, and the plate is retained in the latching position by engagement of the latching strap with an abutment in the lid.

Abstract: A binding for a snowboard has a base, side members extending upwardly and rearwardly from the sides of the base, towards the back of the base, with an arcuate member joining the rear ends of the side members. Fastening means on one side member and on one side edge of the board at the front provide for attachment of one end of each of two straps. Fastening means on the other side member and on the other side edge serve for attachment of a locking bar which in turn connects the other end of each strap to the side member and base. Attachment means are provided in the base for attachment to a snowboard. A snowboard for use in conjunction with the binding has a forward attachment position which provides for attachment of a binding inclined in either direction as desired, that is forward and to the right or forward and to the left, as desired, at about 45.degree.. A rear attachment position provides for attachment of the binding transverse of the board.
