  • Publication number: 20220337466
Abstract: Adaptive guard interval calibration may be provided. A computing device may receive a first plurality of delay spread values. Each of the first plurality of delay spread values may respectively comprise an amount of time between when each of a respective first plurality Access Points (APs) receives a first tuning symbol from a first calibrating AP and when each of the respective first plurality APs receives a final multipath reflection of the first tuning symbol. Next, a first Guard Interval (GI) may be determined based on the first plurality of delay spread values. The first calibrating AP may then be provisioned with the first GI.

  • Publication number: 20220338010
Abstract: Techniques for trusted roaming between identity federation based networks. A first wireless access point (AP) receives a roaming request from a wireless station (STA), to roam from the first AP to a second AP. The first AP is associated with a first access network provider (ANP), the second AP is associated with a second ANP, and the first ANP is different from the second ANP. Authentication information relating to the STA is transmitted from the first ANP to the second ANP using a trusted connection. The trusted connection was previously established between the first ANP and the second ANP based on a query to an identity federation to which both the first and second ANP belong. The STA is de-associated from the first AP.

  • Publication number: 20220337629
Abstract: A method includes receiving, at an access node of a local network, a connection request from a device and in response to the connection request, establishing a connection with an identity provider. The device, the access node, the local network, and the identity provider are members of an identity federation. The method further includes receiving an indication that the device previously violated a network policy of a network different from the local network and after the device is authenticated with the identity provider, determining, by the access node and based on the indication, whether to allow the device to communicate over the access node.

  • Publication number: 20220330363
Abstract: Device-to-Device (D2D) communications in hybrid networks are provided by identifying a first dual-mode endpoint seeking to communicate with a second dual-mode endpoint via a D2D communications session; identifying a first communications pattern of network resource usage for the first Radio Access Technology (RAT) and a second communications pattern of network resource usage for the second RAT in the heterogeneous wireless network environment; assigning the D2D communications session to the first RAT based on the first communication pattern and the second communication pattern; and in response to detecting network resource usage changes in the first RAT, transitioning the D2D communications session to the second RAT. In some embodiments, the D2D communications session is assigned to the first RAT using a shared frequency regulated by a band access controller that is reserved as a static resource for D2D communication while high-priority signals are absent from the shared frequency.

  • Patent number: 11470571
Abstract: Presented herein are techniques for assigning Ultra-Wideband (UWB) anchors for client ranging. A location server can estimate a coarse location of a mobile device using a localization technique other than a UWB localization technique. The localization technique can involve multiple wireless access points or other radio devices. The location server can define an area around the coarse location to identify a set of candidate anchors for UWB ranging. The set of candidate anchors can be disposed within the area and include at least a subset of the radio devices. The location server can modify the set of candidate anchors to create a modified set of candidate anchors that includes only UWB-enabled devices. The location server can select a primary anchor from the modified set of candidate anchors and send a command to cause a UWB ranging procedure to be initiated between the primary anchor and the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20220321467
Abstract: According to one or more embodiments of the disclosure, a service identifies a packet sent by a first device in a network to a second device as being of a particular protocol. The service identifies a control command within the packet for the second device, based in part on the particular protocol identified for the packet. The service determines, based on the control command within the packet, a quality of service policy for the packet. The service causes the quality of service policy to be applied to the packet along a path in the network via which the packet is sent from the first device to the second device.

  • Publication number: 20220322198
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for selecting network protocols using heatmaps. For instance, a system may receive radio frequency information from one or more sources located within an environment. The system may then generate heatmaps using the radio frequency information, where the heatmaps represent characteristics associated with different network protocols. The characteristics may include signal strengths, throughputs, data packet drop rates, data packet retry rates, and/or the like for various locations within the environment. A user device may then receive the heatmaps from the system. Using a location of the user device and the heatmaps, the user device may determine to communicate using a network protocol from the different network protocols. The user device may then establish a connection using the network protocol.

  • Publication number: 20220321484
Abstract: In one embodiment, a service associates a plurality of descriptive tags with a node in a network, based on an inspection of packets sent by the node that is performed by one or more sensors deployed to the network. The service identifies, based on the plurality of descriptive tags, data to be extracted from traffic of the node by an edge device located at an edge of the network. The service determines, based on the plurality of descriptive tags, an external destination to which the data should be sent by the edge device after extraction. The service sends a data pipeline configuration to the edge device, wherein the data pipeline configuration causes the edge device to extract the data from the traffic sent by the node and to send the data to the external destination.

  • Publication number: 20220311523
Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for determining quality of experience (QoE) for wireless communications are described. One technique involves transmitting a QoE support message to an access point (AP) within an access network. The QoE support message queries whether the AP supports providing key performance indicators (KPI(s)) indicative of QoE provided by the access network. An indication of whether the AP supports providing the KPI(s) is received in response to the QoE support message. The KPI(s) are received when the AP supports providing the KPI(s). A determination is made whether to communicate with the AP based at least in part on the KPI(s). Communications are then performed in accordance with the determination.

  • Publication number: 20220312192
Abstract: Correlating devices and clients across addresses may be provided. A first address associated with a client device may be received. When the client device is not connected to a network, first location data associated with the first address may be obtained using a passive technique. A second address and second location data associated with the second address may then be obtained using an active technique. It may then be determined that the first location data and the second location data correlate. In response to determining that the first location data and the second location data correlate, it may be determined that the client device has changed from the first address to the second address.

  • Patent number: 11457330
Abstract: Presented herein are techniques for assigning Ultra-Wideband (UWB) anchors for client ranging. A control device can monitor UWB ranging between a mobile device and a primary anchor. In response to determining that a signal strength between the mobile device and the primary anchor is below a threshold, the control device can identify anchors for which the mobile device has had a signal strength above the threshold during a period of time, and select one of the anchors as a new primary anchor for the mobile device. For example, the control device can select the new primary anchor based on a relative collision tolerance mapping for the new primary anchor and at least one other anchor within a UWB range of the new primary anchor. The control device can send a command causing UWB ranging to be performed between the mobile device and the new primary anchor.
