Abstract: Gliding board, especially a snowboard with a composite structure, constituted by a solid core about which are adhered, on the one hand, at least one upper mechanical resistance element, and on the other hand, at least one lower mechanical resistance element on which a gliding bottom surface surrounded with a peripheral metallic running edge is arranged, wherein the metallic running edge is constituted by at least one steel shaped element whose length is substantially equal to the periphery of the bottom surface, and whose free ends are affixed to one another at a butt connecting point via an effective mechanical linkage device, so as to obtain a running edge that closes over itself.
