    Abstract: A temperature monitoring device having a sealed inviolatable housing in which a temperature sensor is located. Temperature recording means within the housing obtain successive temperature readings as sensed by the temperature sensor over a period of time. Temperature storage means also within the housing provide for storage of the temperature readings, and infrared data transmission means within the housing enable the stored temperature reading to be transferred to a reader device.
