  • Publication number: 20180087776
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a mounting assembly for a fluid conduit. The mounting assembly includes a casing, a first fluid conduit segment, and a second fluid conduit segment. A fitting is spaced apart from the casing. The fitting couples the first fluid conduit segment and the second fluid conduit segment. A bracket includes a casing mounting portion coupled to the casing, a first fitting mounting portion spaced apart from the casing mounting portion and coupled to the fitting, and a thickness. The thickness of the bracket permits the fitting to move relative to the casing.

  • Patent number: 9360220
Abstract: The present application provides a micro-mixer combustion nozzle for mixing a flow of fuel and a flow of air in a gas turbine engine. The micro-mixer combustion nozzle may include a fuel plate with a number of fuel plate apertures and a fuel plate passage in communication with the flow of fuel and an air plate with a number of air plate apertures and an air plate passage in communication with the flow of air. The fuel plate passage and the air plate passage may align to mix in part the flow of fuel and the flow of air.

    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Wei Chen, Kevin Weston McMahan, Gregory Allen Boardman, Jerome David Brown
  • Patent number: 9249679
Abstract: An impingement sleeve and methods for designing and forming an impingement sleeve are disclosed. In one embodiment, the impingement sleeve includes a body configured to at least partially surround a transition piece of the combustor. The impingement sleeve further includes a plurality of cooling holes defined in the body, the plurality of cooling holes having a cooling hole pattern configured to provide a desired operational value for the transition piece. At least one of the plurality of cooling holes has a chamfer extending at least partially between an inlet and an outlet of the at least one of the plurality of cooling holes. At least a portion of the plurality of cooling holes are generally longitudinally asymmetric.

  • Patent number: 8887508
Abstract: An impingement sleeve and methods for designing and forming an impingement sleeve are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for designing an impingement sleeve is disclosed. The method includes determining a desired operational value for a transition piece, inputting a combustor characteristic into a processor, and utilizing the combustor characteristic in the processor to determine a cooling hole pattern for the impingement sleeve, the cooling hole pattern comprising a plurality of cooling holes, at least a portion of the plurality of cooling holes being generally longitudinally asymmetric, the cooling hole pattern providing the desired operational value.

  • Publication number: 20140033726
Abstract: A liner cooling assembly for a gas turbine system includes a liner having an outer surface and an inner surface, the inner surface defining an interior region. Also included is a sleeve disposed radially outwardly of the outer surface of the liner, the sleeve and the outer surface of the liner defining a channel configured to receive a cooling flow. Further included is a cooling jacket extending circumferentially around at least a portion of the outer surface of the liner and disposed between the liner and the sleeve, wherein the cooling jacket comprises at least one support operably coupled to the cooling jacket and the outer surface of the liner.
