  • Patent number: 9861225
Abstract: The disclosure presents a single cup coffee brewer comprised of a dripper component, a drip rate control component, and a plunger assembly. The dripper component has a cylindrical brewing container and a removable cylindrical tube that enables an appropriately sized standard basket filter to be inserted snugly in the cylindrical brewing container. The drip rate control component, attached to the dripper component, has a lever that controls the drip control rate of the dripper component from a zero drip rate to a maximum value. The coffee brewer may therefore be used similar to a cone dripper, but with a user controlling the drip rate, or as an infuser perhaps followed by a dripper. The plunger assembly converts the dripper component and the drip rate control component into an Espresso plunger by allowing the user to force brewing coffee through the basket filter into a cup. Various embodiments are presented.

  • Patent number: 9596912
Abstract: The inventive concept presented herein is a t-handle folding cane that when extended for walking appears to be a standard t-handle cane. However when the cane is folded, it is designed to be hung from various horizontal surfaces such as a table top, a dresser with a lip, or a bookcase, etc. Embodiments include a) a clamp that has a slider jaw that allows the handle-bottom and slider jaw to be clamped to a table top, b) a slider jaw extension that extends the length of the slider jaw, c) a constant force spring, d) a handle modification that allows the handle to be extended so the cane is better balanced when hung from a table, and e) modifications to the shaft so a user's grip on the handle lies directly over the cane's point of contact to the ground.

  • Patent number: 9526368
Abstract: The first embodiment of the disclosure presents a single cup coffee brewer comprised of two components: a dripper component and a drip rate control component. The dripper component has a brewing container with a flat bottom having a drainage part, and a cylindrical tube member that fits inside the brewing container. A single sheet of Number 4 filter paper is wrapped around the cylindrical tube member, fitting snugly against the drainage part, thereby forming a dripper having a flat bottom using standard filter paper. The drip rate control component is attached to the dripper component, and has a lever that controls the drip control rate from zero to a maximum value. The coffee brewer can therefore be used as a dripper with a user controlled drip rate, or as an infuser followed by a dripper where the user controls the drip rate.

  • Patent number: 5974407
Abstract: The invention is directed to a computer implemented system and apparatus for construction of a Hierarchical Database Management System (HDBMS) using a commercially available Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) as the implementing apparatus. The invention uses one or more RDBMS tables to store rows of a hierarchical database implemented by the HDBMS. Composite keys, unique over all the tables, are used to maintain hierarchical families and maintain the hierarchical parent/child relationships within families. Root conditions and child conditions may be used to determine which tables may be used for adding root row starting a new family, and which tables may be used for adding a child row of a selected parent row. SQL select queries present hierarchical views of the hierarchical database. SQL action queries are used to perform the database functions of insert root, insert child, update row, and delete row and its descendents.
