Abstract: A dual channel drainage seal for enclosing a joint between a slab and a foundation sidewall of a subterranean area. The drainage seal includes and lower channel and an upper channel stacked over the lower channel. The lower channel is affixed on top of the slab and against the sidewall to form and enclosed channel for retaining and routing radon and/or water seepage at the joint to a sump pit. The upper channel is open on top and configured to capture and route water seepage from the sidewall above to the sump for discharge, thereby protecting the interior portions of the slab from radon and water damage.

Abstract: An elevator pit having a waterproof cement floor and method for installing the same. The elevator pit includes a jack casing and a drainage pit installed within the elevator pit. A trench is formed in exposed ground surface and defines a channel having a first end positioned at an area that is susceptible to water accumulation within the elevator pit and a second end terminating at the drainage pit. A perforated conduit extends within the channel with an end terminating at the drainage pit. A layer of gravel is disposed over the exposed ground surface and trench at a predetermined height to cover the perforated conduit. A layer of waterproof cement is provided over the ground surface at a predetermined height to cover the gravel, channel and perforated conduit to form the waterproof cement floor which extends across an entire periphery of the elevator pit.

Abstract: A system controls leakage in a pit which contains equipment which uses pressurized hydraulic fluid. A tap communicates with a space holding leaked fluid, and directs leaked fluid to a fluid sump. A pump moves fluid from the fluid sump to a hydraulic fluid recapturing holding tank located outside the pit above a fluid reservoir. Fluid from the fluid reservoir is selectively relocated into the fluid reservoir, which re-supplies the equipment. An electronic control panel located outside the pit interacts with a remote computer to provide a remote user with information concerning operation of the system and to allow the remote user to monitor and control at least certain operations of the system, and which processor also controls operation of the pump and actuating valve. All of the mechanical and electrical equipment of the system is located outside of the pit.
