  • Patent number: 5961016
Abstract: An apparatus attachable to a vehicle surface for gripping an article including a base member, side panels, at least one finger member, an adjustment member, and an attachment member. The base member includes a top surface, a first side edge and a second side edge. The side panels extend upwardly from each of the first and second side edges. The at least one finger member is slidably attached to at least one of the side panels. The finger member includes an extension region extending at least partially toward the opposing side panel so that the extension region together with the base member and the side panels define an inner region that facilitates retention of an article therein. The adjustment member adjusts the distance between the extension region of the finger member and the top surface base member, to in turn, accommodate articles of varying thicknesses. The attachment means facilitates attachment of the apparatus to a vehicle surface.

The mount is associated with the vehicle accessory. The beam includes a first end associated with the mount, a second end, and a substantially longitudinal slot therebetween. The slot includes a proximal end near the first end of the beam, a distal end near the second end of the beam, and opposing sidewalls therebetween. One of the opposing walls having an opening to facilitate receipt of the vehicle structure into the longitudinal slot. The clamping member is movably positionable along at least a portion of the beam between the first and second ends thereof. The clamping member effectively clamping the vehicle structure therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5938160
Abstract: A cupholder apparatus for attachment to a surface including a base member, a support member, a finger member and an attachment member. The support member extends upward from the base member. The finger member is associated with the support member and includes a first end capable of selective positioning. The attachment member is frangibly associated with the cupholder apparatus. The frangibility facilitates temporary or permanent attachment to, or onto, a surface.

  • Patent number: 5695164
Abstract: A bracket having at least two gripping members for releasably supporting, and, in turn, affixing an object to a surface. The operable distance between the gripping members may be adjusted to compensate for the width of the object. Each of the gripping members is maintained in a substantially equidistant position relative to a center region of the bracket. A movable lip member compensates for the thickness of the object and provides additional releasable securement of the object.

  • Patent number: 5560578
Abstract: An adjustable holding device and method for same wherein the device comprises a base having a top surface and a bottom surface and a carriage having an upper surface and a lower surface, adjacently positioned with the base. Two upright members, each having a first end in a channel in the base and a second end extending through guides on the carriage, hold the article in position. Upon rotation of the base relative to the carriage, the upright members positionally alter to compensate for various sized articles to be secured by the adjustable holding device.

  • Patent number: 5528837
Abstract: An adjustable magnetic compass for adjustably compensating for the magnetic variation between magnetic north and map north. The adjustable compass includes a compass dial having directional indicia applied thereto, and a lubber line for operative alignment relative to the directional indicia. The lubber line can be rotatably adjusted relative to the directional indicia so as to visually compensate for the magnetic variation between magnetic north and map north with respect to the geographic location in which the adjustable magnetic compass is to be located.

  • Patent number: 5418518
Abstract: An animal warning device for alerting, and in turn warning, various animals, such as deer, through one or more tones audible to animals, that a vehicle, to which the device may be attached, is approaching. A housing member, which supports a speaker, is adjustably attachable to a vehicle. The housing member includes a dispersing region operatively associated with the housing member for dispersing the one or more tones broadcasted out of the speaker in a radiated, spray-like pattern.

  • Patent number: 5148581
Abstract: A clip device for attaching an article and an adjacently positioned object in a predetermined orientation with respect to each other. A clamp which includes a first and second portion, is releasably maintained in a substantially closed orientation by a biased member. The clamp is pivotally mounted about a securement member. The securement member includes two substantially parallel positioned prongs which are insertable into the adjacently positioned object. The prongs each have an insertion tip, for initial insertion into the object, and an angled section located near the back end of the clamp. Extending at one angle between each prong and a region of the securement member about which the clamp is pivotally mounted is an extension section.

  • Patent number: 5071096
Abstract: A drink container stabilizing device which normally rests upon a relatively horizontal surface for releasably holding various sized drink containers. One or more biased members, each of which are secured to the inner surface of a frame, releasably hold various sized drink containers within the frame's interior region. The frame has a top end and a bottom end which rests upon the relatively horizontal surface when the drink container stabilizing device is in a resting position. A retaining member may be used to further secure the one or more biased members proximate the top end of the frame, and a base plate may be attached to the bottom end of the frame so as to provide an underlying support for a drink container should the device be raised from its resting position. The base plate may further serve to secure the one or more biased members proximate to the bottom end of the frame.
