  • Patent number: 4344598
Abstract: In a motor support having a slidable carriage on which a motor with a pulley, carrying a belt connected to a pulley on a piece of machinery, is mounted, springs engage the carriage to provide a spring loading for the carriage and a fluid pressure arrangement is provided for moving the carriage initially to tighten the belt and then to compress the springs to the point that the force exerted by the springs on the carriage will be in equilibrium with the tension in the belt between the pulleys with such state of equilibrium being maintained solely by further compression of the springs under belt induced movement of the carriage as the load on the machinery may be increased.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 5, 1978
Date of Patent: August 17, 1982
Assignees: Joseph File, Seth A. Hubbard
    Inventor: Jerome J. Sloyan
  • Patent number: 4252380
Abstract: A motor support has a carriage movably mounted by means of gliders, which are cross-sectionally square elongated tubes, that slidably encompass parallel elongated fixed rails on a stationary base bed with plastic or metal bearing sleeves press fitted in the end portions of the glider tubes to bearingly support them on the rails and transfer the motor load on the glider tubes to the rails in a friction free manner with a reservoir of a viscous lubricant within the center portions of the glider tubes.

  • Patent number: 4133508
Abstract: A motor mount having a slidable carriage bodily invertable by rotating 180.degree. on its longitudinal center line, and having stud-receiving portal openings so arranged and situated in the carriage upper and lower cross-members or surface plates such that with studs therethrough securing the motor to the carriage with the carriage in a certain face upward position, the motor is in an attitude necessarily twisted only to, for instance, the left, and is twisted only to the right with the carriage in a position inverted from the mentioned certain position, the studs utilizing the same portal openings in each of the two positions of the carriage.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 9, 1979
    Assignee: Automatic Motor Base Co.
Inventors: Jerome J. Sloyan, Anton Kuppek
  • Patent number: 4120210
Abstract: A motor mount having novel means for maintaining the belt from the motor to the driven instrumentality in constant undeviated alinement notwithstanding that a variable pitch pulley is used, of which one flange is axially slidable and the other flange is nonslidable, but wherewith relative lateral displacement between the pulley flanges and belt is compensated for simultaneously with the varying of the pitch diameter of engagement of the belt with said flanges.
