  • Publication number: 20080012190
Abstract: An automated truss assembly system includes a jigging table including a plurality of automatically actuatable pucks for use in positioning the truss components on the jigging table. A laser projector is positioned to project a laser image onto the jigging table for use in positioning the truss components on the jigging table.

  • Publication number: 20060288831
Abstract: An automated saw system, including a saw head movable in a cutting stroke and rotatable in angle to perform miter cuts and a lumber feed conveyor to feed lumber to be cut to the saw head. The short lumber member conveyor has a floating gripping assembly that is shiftable along a substantially linear path that is substantially parallel to the lumber long axis whereby a short lumber member cut from the lumber is supported by the short lumber member conveyor during at least part of a cutting process and, after the cutting process is complete, is conveyed from the vicinity of the saw head to an out-feed area for removal.

  • Publication number: 20050120840
Abstract: An automated board processing system and the corresponding processes that receives job orders comprising a needed set of specifically sized boards cut to specified lengths for assembly into components such as wall structures, roof trusses or other trusses. The system and processes expediently processes a series of boards from board feeding portion comprising individually selected magazines or other board sources to convey, measure, mark and/or saw same with optimal mechanical simplicity and efficiency thereby completing the job order. A control processor receives the job order and controls operation of the plurality of magazines or other board sources, the conveying, the measuring, the marking, the sawing, and the replenishment of the board sources in the board feeding portion.
