  • Patent number: 6382295
Abstract: A bracket system is provided which is selectively convertible between a first mode in which it supports a mini-blind and a second mode in which it supports a curtain rod. The bracket system includes a mini-blind bracket and a curtain rod adapter. The mini-blind bracket forms a chamber defined by top and bottom walls, a back wall, and a side wall. The chamber is open along one side and along its front. A channel is formed in the top and bottom wall by flanges and grooves, and is sized to receive the adapter. The adapter comprises a plate which fits in the channel and which has a T-member sized and shaped to receive the end of a standard curtain rod. The adapter is easily slid into and out of the bracket to convert the bracket between its two modes.

  • Patent number: 5913606
Abstract: A bag, such as a refuse bag for trash and yard waste, has at least one adhesive patch proximate the mouth of the bag so that while the bottom of the bag is resting on the ground, the top of the bag is temporarily adhered to a surface such as a wall or a tree so that the mouth the bag droops open. The adhesive patch is preferably covered with a cover strip which is stripped from the adhesive patch to expose the adhesive patch when one is ready to use the bag. The strip may be used as a tie to loop around and hold closed the top of the bag. Preferably, the bag has two, spaced adhesive patches, so that the bag can be mounted in a container, such as a trash container, with the mouth folded over and adhered to the outside of the container and so that the bag may be detached from one location and adhered at another location.

  • Patent number: 5819917
Abstract: An accessory (10) for attachment to a flashlight (F). The accessory carries replacement batteries (B) and a replacement bulb (L) for the flashlight. A housing (12) may be either circular or rectangular in cross-section. The length of the housing corresponds to the total length of the batteries required to replace the flashlight batteries. One end (14) of the housing is closed, its other end (16) is open, and the interior of the housing is sized for the replacement batteries to fit within the housing. An end cap (20) fits over the open end of the housing. The cap includes an interior bracket (26) in which the replacement bulb is stored, and the cap is removable for removal of the replacement batteries or the bulb. A ring (36) on the housing attaches to a ring (R) or a washer (40) on the flashlight for attaching the accessory to the flashlight; or, alternately, to an article of clothing worn by the user. This allows the accessory to be conveniently carried with the flashlight.
