  • Patent number: 11238855
Abstract: Techniques for resolving ambiguous recipient users and/or recipient devices are described. A system receives input data from a device. The system may determine the input data corresponds to a spoken utterance requesting a call be established. When the system determines the recipient user and/or the recipient device is ambiguous, the system determines communications pattern data associated with the originating device. The system also determines context data. Based on the communications pattern data and the context data, the system may resolve an identity of the recipient user and/or resolve an identity of the recipient device. The system may also use communications pattern data and context data to determine when a device is likely to receive a communication and output content indicating same to a user.

  • Patent number: 11109117
Abstract: The playback of video content upon a display is enhanced through the unobtrusive presentation of extrinsic data upon the same display. A video content feature is rendered on a display. A quantity of extrinsic data relevant to a current time in the video content feature is determined based at least in part on viewing history of a user. A graphical element presenting at least a portion of the extrinsic data is rendered on the display while the video content feature is also being rendered on the display.

  • Patent number: 10489016
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for identifying and recommending events of interest in real-time media content. Individual ones of multiple media content streams are analyzed to determine whether events of interest are occurring in real-time. It is then determined that an event of interest is occurring in real-time in a particular media content stream of the multiple media content streams. A user interface is generated that recommends the particular media content stream based at least in part on the event of interest.

  • Patent number: 10362368
Abstract: Relationships and descriptions are inferred for entities that appear in media content, such as movies and television programs. In one embodiment, media content is analyzed to infer relationships among entities that appear in the media content over an entirety of the media content. Relationships between two or more entities may change over time in the media content. A request is received from a client device for entity information regarding one or more entities relative to a particular time in the media content. Relationships that have been inferred via this analysis are then identified based at least in part on the particular time. The entity information presenting the identified relationships is sent to the client device.

  • Patent number: 10257556
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for determining whether a client device is authorized to receive media content based at least in part on the call signs of broadcast stations that the client device is able to receive. A computing device receives a broadcast station identifier and a program identifier from a client computing device. The computing device determines that the client computing device is authorized to access media content identified by the program identifier based at least in part on the broadcast station identifier. • Patent number: 10194189
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments that facilitate playback of content via multiple display devices. Playback may be synchronized among multiple display devices and/or auxiliary content rendered by a companion device may be synchronized to playback of content by a primary device. A server device receives a request from a first client device to commence a playback of a content feature upon an identified second client device. The server device sends an instruction to the second client device to commence the playback of the content feature upon a display of the second client device in response to the request. Status updates regarding the playback may be provided to the first client device by the server device.

  • Patent number: 9973732
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to methods, apparatuses, and systems for facilitating video communications between users in environments including a plurality of imaging devices. For example, an environment can include first and second imaging devices having associated fields of view providing multiple perspectives of a user. Upon initiating a video communication session, a network device can receive image data from the imaging devices to determine an identity of a user. A user profile of the user can include preferences for the communication, such as device selection, zoom selection, audio selection, subject framing, and the like. Further, the network device can utilize machine learned algorithms to determine an optimal view of the user for the video communication based on the fields of view associated with each imaging device. The network device can intelligently add users to a communication session and provide output to devices to provide a seamless videoconferencing experience.

  • Patent number: 9710819
Abstract: A computing system accepts audio from one or more sources, parses the audio into chunks, and transcribes the chunks in substantially real time. Some transcription is performed automatically, while other transcription is performed by humans who listen to the audio and enter the words spoken and/or the intent of the caller (such as directions given to the system). The system provides for participants a user interface that is updated in substantially real time with the transcribed text from the audio stream(s). A single audio line can be used for simple transcription, and multiple audio lines are used to provide a real-time transcript of a conference call, deposition, or the like. A pool of analysts creates, checks, and/or corrects transcription, and callers/observers can even assist in the correction process through their respective user interfaces. Ads derived from the transcript are displayed together with the text in substantially real time.
