  • Patent number: 5231735
Abstract: A flat plastic clip has a pressure tab having opposed sharp pressure points facing the thin, narrow pinching channels. The pressure points are joined by curved hook portions and partially form bag crease openings that are offset inwardly from the pressure points. A large relief opening is provided below the pressure tab and joins pinching channels adjacent the pressure points. The width of the material of the body between the outside end of the body and the pressure pinching channels is of considerable width. The neck of the pressure tab which joins the pressure tab to the body is also of substantial width to provide rigidity to the clip at the pinching channels and apply a strong force resisting bending of the pressure tab outwardly of the plane of the clip.

  • Patent number: 4509231
Abstract: A strip of closures and individual closures having different configurations of bag neck-confining apertures entered through openings in opposite edges of the closures. The differing configurations of the bag neck-confining apertures can be different sizes and/or different shapes, and preferably are in the opposite sides of a strip of closures so that the differing bag neck-confining apertures can be exposed to oncoming bags merely by flipping the strip over 180 degrees.

  • Patent number: 4361935
Abstract: Several unique bag closure features are presented, with one embodiment having a bag-neck confining opening provided with inwardly depending appendages peripherally spaced from one another and with blunted ends to protect the bag, but with sharp corners to hold the bag. Another feature of the invention is a perforated plastic bag closure, with the perforations being arranged in a unique pattern to maximize the strength of the closure while reducing its weight. A third feature is a plurality of interconnected, flat, generally rigid closures which are joined in an elongated strip by sets of transversely spaced but outwardly, generally convex webs which space the adjoined, adjacent closures from one another yet leave a smooth web when the closures are separated by breaking the webs.

  • Patent number: 4077187
Abstract: An improved bag closure imprinter is substituted for the various styles of printing devices heretofore associated with the closure applying system of the Kwik Log Bag Closing Machine, (No. 1081) shown basically in U.S. Pat. No. 3,163,972, issued Jan. 5, 1965.The new cold tape ink bag closure imprinter is fixed on top of the tower-like frame of the bag closing system and becomes an integral part of the bag closing machine. Although having its own drive motor and clutch, the printer is individually cycled successively at a given point in each cycle of the closing system so as to fully coordinate both departments of the machine.
